i drove a kawasaki 125 cruiser at the motorcycle class and i could barely shift because of crampness of the ergonomics most small cruisers i tried were the same that's why i like my scoot easy riding position and no shifting i invite you to punch that bike into cycle ergo before anything good luck

i had a bad ground keeping my battery from charging .It was the main braided wire going to the motor(covered with oil) to the negative battery cable.the starter issue sounds like the switch i had that happen in my chinese scooter days but check  where those metal folding things hold the wire against the frame before buying a switch

i used a square headed screw and bent it to a 90 degree angle i didn't pay anything for it i have a coffee can full of them
