When running new tyres, don't push them straight away, some say 50km, my owner's manuals for my suzukis say 160km, I think that is for covering their backsides. When you are running in your tyres just go easy on the corners and progressively lean a little more.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

but I doubt other drivers are going to stop cutting me off for another 90 miles until I have them broken in....

Well there's foreshadowing for you...

Was riding in this morning taking it at a moderate pace because of the rain/new tire stuff and approached an intersection shortly after the light had turned green.  Always a welcome event because that means I can get through the next few sets of lights without stopping.

So I'm on the throttle and making sure there is nobody in the oncomming lanes lining up to make a left in front of me- which there wasn't, and then I started my usual look left, look right routine before entering the intersection.  As I look left I see a car that I'm concened about since they don't seem like they are slowing down as much as they should.  So I get on the brakes to start slowing the scoot down just in case.

Sure enough the car comes into the intersection without stopping and then, realizing what was happening, the driver stops the car iin the interesection completely blocking my lane.  With nowhere to go I get on the brakes hard and hope for the best.  Luckily the agility has great stopping power and the new tires held their ground.

Stopped with 4 or 5 feet to spare - but damn!

It's a jungle out there - everyone stay safe!

I know what you mean!

However, at the time I was so relieved that everything went well that I didn't even get angry.

Good thing I was coming off a residential street and only doing 25-30 mph.

Still, woke me up faster than my morning coffee!

That being the case, maybe he should be called "Fingerslinger" instead?
