Vitality 50 / Re: Can you derestrict a Vitality 2t 2007?
« on: October 10, 2017, 08:15:52 PM »

Hey thanks I'll check for the spacer on cvt shaft. I replaced the exhaust so I don't think I have that problem, haha. I also changed my clutch assembly and my clutch spring. Do you know if I will get better acceleration with smaller springs in the clutch? They came with it so I'm not sure. I ordered a jet as well because I'm running a bit too rich right now, I'm at 116 which is stock so I'm getting a 114 hopefully that will be lean enough to get rid of my black spark plug syndrome.

68cc bore kit bought me more torque, balanced with different weights w/o changing clutch spring weight

You may need to play with the air fuel mixture (left is lean) screw to get rid of black plug issues,  the idle jet only covers the first 30% or so of the throttle range.

I'm sure you have already upgraded the plug as well.

Steal your friend's scooter!

Many owners find Kymco belts to be the best for a Kymco scooter.
Other brands can work....but why change from the best.
Belts need to be the exact length and width of the stock Kymco belt....only the Kymco belt guarantees to the purchaser to be the same as the Kymco belt.

If you're  changing things in the CVT, hopefully other 50cc owners will jump in here and tell you what parts you need to use in order to catch your friend's 50.

Stig
Here is the list of what I did to my Aprilia
New variator from Molassi
68cc big bore kit
Rejetted carb
New clutch spring

That got me to 60 mph
Additional things
Clutch assembly
Expansion pipe

Things to look for

Flow restriction in the OEM exhaust (will look like a washer has been welded in... grind it out)

Spacer on cvt shaft

Hope this helps

General Discussion / Re: Why no highway patrol in FLA ?

Lol. We call bike week call amateur hour. Locals tend to go to biketoberfest but that's also becoming a Yankee fest. Cops have a field day. Rest of the year I can register and drive just about anything with a motor and never get hassled.

Please to all that trailer, yuck, your bike to bike week keep coming and keep leaving you $$$.

AMAC
Why would anyone want to ride on an interstate in Florida.  Too many nice state and US highways that are WAY safer and WAY more fun.

General Discussion / Re: non-Kymcos

Kymco owners seem to have at least one thing in common; We research scoot's from different countries and learn from other people that a scooter made in Taiwan could be a good one. Then, we have the courage to buy one for ourselves and find that having an open mind is a good thing.
How did I end up here?
In 02 I wanted a scooter that would keep up with Atlanta surface streets. Already had an Aprilia Scarabeo 50 (70 after kit) but could not go 2 up and hit 50.

Looked into getting a Vespa rebuilt or direct from Europe and started doing a little research.  Found Bajaj (T4) and the Stella (T2).

Went for the Bajaj that I put 20,000+ miles on in Atlanta, OKC, and San Antonio TX.

Last year I moved to Florida and for the first time the 55mph Bajaj just wasn't up to my commute.

Knowing that I needed to do 70 to 75 each morning and evening and remembering the ride of the Aprilia with the 16 in. Wheels pointed me toward the People 300 and the BV350. Everyone used to rave about the Veaps/Paggio quality.... until mfg shifted to asia. I went with a used 300i and after ditching the OEM front tire (cupped POC) for a Metzler I am happy.

After all Kymco made all of those DEVO Hondas in the 80s and 90s , and had built a reputation as durable.
So it isn't like they were a new scooter company.

Have fun

Had similar isses with my Bajaj Chetak
Turned out to be the plug wire

I had an Aprilia with similar issue. Would run for a few sec and starve out.
It turned out to be the Vacuum assisted fuel petcock wasnt opening.
It would dribble enough fuel to start then die.

With 700 miles I'd look for the basic issues, fuel, spark, and air

Hope this helps.

Plug wire or possibly clogged main jet as 15% is where that would take over
