« on: March 16, 2015, 09:05:03 PM »
For sale. Barely used 2009 Kymco Xciting 500RI. 500cc, fuel injected, ultra low miles (1560). Never dropped and always garaged. Includes a Laminar Lip, Givi top box, and a new agm battery. Pearl white color. Looks and runs great. Reason for sale - old fart owner bought a new scoot and wife says old one must go. Only asking $2500. PM me for pics and questions. Scoot is in east central Tennessee (Crossville).

For Sale / Givi Xciting Passenger Backrest
« on: May 13, 2009, 04:28:44 PM »
Givi TB80 passenger backrest for Xciting 250/500. This is not compatible with top boxes as you can't open the box lid with this backrest in place. I decided to add a top box after all so I'm offering this in nearly new condition for $60 plus $10 shipping or take a nice ride in the country and pick up in East Tennessee.

Xciting 500 / Givi Windshield
« on: May 13, 2009, 04:27:37 PM »
Does anyone know for sure if the Givi windshield for the Xciting will fit the 2009 500Ri model without major mods? I have been looking at it and the Laminar Lip as an alternative. Leo at Laminar is unsure whether the lip will fit the 2009 properly and suggested that I buy it and return it if it doesn't fit. I'm not sure I want to fork out the shipping cost both ways just to find out so I'm looking at the windshield now. The windshield mounting appears to be the same as previous models so I may go that route. I know you guys had to mod yours slightly to fit and that wouldn't be a problem for me.

General Discussion / Legal Quandry in Tennessee
« on: August 22, 2008, 07:57:31 PM »
Newbie post here so bear with me. This is just a heads up for fellow Tennessee riders in the same position. I'm 60 and just bought a 2009 Xciting500Ri. Not having ridden a bike for 35 years I went down to the local driver's license office today to get a temporary permit so I could practice riding prior to taking the test for the motorcycle endorsement. I was told that they don't give temporary permits for motorcycle endorsements. When I asked how I could get riding experience in order to pass the test they said it was "up to you" but if you get stopped you will get a ticket. They suggested that I trailer the scooter to a parking lot and practice there. Is this the norm in other states? Luckily I'm due to take the MSF course in a few weeks. So I guess I sit and stare at the scooter in the garage until then. How depressing!
