Magnetic drain plug?
« on: September 06, 2012, 01:51:50 PM »
I have a people 150. Before changing the oil this time, I purchased a prima magnetic bolt oil drain kit (part # 1300-1007). In order to install the bottom bolt, I have to eliminate the spring and screen. The magnet won't let the spring seat properly. Is this the correct way???

The screen is the closest thing to an oil filter you have.  Not all the swarf floating around in the engine oil is magnetic.  I'm thinking you want to keep the screen.    Maybe you could modify the spring to allow the use of both if this is necessary (??)

IT will all fit. The spring is just compressed a little more. I had one on my People 150 and have one on my People S 250. Not a problem.
