General Discussion / NSR: a first for me~!
« Last post by Stig / Major Tom on Today at 03:18:00 PM »
While riding this morning I watched one of those little side-walk, french-fry eating, sparrows chasing a squirrel across the street right in front of me!
Funniest thing - that large squirrel had his tail up and was really beating feet to get away from that tiny bird which was right on his butt!

...an example of some kind of physics? or?

Went to bed after laying out my wet gear for rainy/dark sunrise ride on Memorial Day. I kind of enjoy the challenge and senility serenity of dark rain rides!

Ah....but no. The band of storms passed before I could join in! I'm the blue dot.

So, out watching for downed branches and puddles hiding pot holes!

Moon over field of young corn

Pond, Y.S.

once in the village, I walked down to collect the chess pieces - thinking the storm must have scattered them.
Nope~! - they are nicely weighted!

Very nice morning for a ride. Traffic very light!...not that there is ever very much at sunrise.

sounds like it may be a carb issue? Easy for carbs to get some gunk in the jets or passages, especially if not ridden regularly.

Mongoose / Kymco mongoose 270 axle nuts size
« Last post by Nathan25 on May 27, 2024, 08:33:42 PM »
I broke the axle on my 270 and am now replacing it I have run into one problem, getting the axle out. I have got everything off both tires and hubs and am now stuck on the 2 nuts. 1. Are they reverse threaded. 2. What is the actual size of the nuts. Lastly is snapping axles a common problem on these machines or am I just unlucky, regardless any help appreciated.

These things are made to run after riding or sitting in the rain. I've ridden in the rain many times.
Where did you put the water?

C’mon Stig, that’s a plenty big enough gap… isn’t it? 😱
I know truck drivers are pros...and I wasn't really concerned.
But he's 50% into my painted parking rectangle!
I toyed with the idea of moving my scooter closer - for more dramatic photo-op🙃

Duddy,
I believe that LED headlight bulbs have been used successfully by a few LIKE200I owners.
You might start a new thread to get their latest experiences.

You're confusing me!  This is your posting on the forum but I don't see the link to the YouTube video.  I thought you were guiding us to the video but I guess you are asking the forum members if they know of a Youtube to visually explain how to remove the body panels and do the valve adjustment.  Right?
Well, no.
I was asking LIKE150I owner/members to make a YouTube of their panel procedure when doing a valve adjustment.
Surely owners are doing valve adjustments on their 150i's?
Maybe, maybe not.
Maybe they're just not into making yutubes.

Iahawk:  Thanks for your reply. I do use a trickle charger to keep the aux battery charged.  And I agree that a full-size automotive battery would be better than a small scooter battery (YTZ14/12S).  This battery can now also be charged by a 1 amp, 15 W portable solar panel that I have had in storage for the past 15 years!  My two cars and the Like 200i all have power chargers connected to them which charge the power banks when the vehicles are running.  To assist in an all-out home power outage, I just can't justify the expense of a whole house backup generator or the expense of installing a power switch box for a portable natural gas generator.  I recognize that the 120 VAC inverter would only charge something like a smartphone a few times.

I am interested in learning more about LED headlights for the Like 200i but I understand there are pros & cons that need to be considered.

Getting ready to do the valve check on my LIKE200i ...and noticed something...
We know how to adjust our scooter's valves - but scooters often require a "how-to" just to get to them!
The steps followed to get through the plastics to the valve cover. Where you turn the engine, etc.? (on the left side for my Piaggio, the right for a LIKE200i)
I didn't see a video on youtube for the LIKE150i.

I think they are to be checked every 3,000 miles?

here's an opportunity for a LIKE150i owner to launch a film career~!
