Did I ruin the CVT belt and or Clutch?
« on: October 21, 2010, 04:08:16 PM »
???  Riding in very mountainous area of SoCal yesterday. Part way up a rocky hill, I had to stop and try to go over a big rock on a steep hill, smoke started coming out of the back of the bike and it smelled the way car brakes smell when they're over heated.
I backed down the hill, let it sit a few minutes and took a different path.

Seemed okay after that.

My question is: Is it like auto brakes where I can let it cool and everything is okay, or did I ruin part of the tran?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. Mark

I love the bike by the way. I also own a Kawa Bayou 250 but much prefer my Kymco.

Probably everything will be fine if you did not do it for too long.
The clutch pads were probably burnt a bit. :)
