Title: "ADJ" and "MODE"
Post by: Telomostro on July 05, 2017, 09:46:36 PM
Hello folks, I have just purchased a used 2013 People GTi 200 (1500 miles).
First of all I would like to hear your opinion about the $2200 price, is it "Fair Market Price", is it below or is it above...?

Also both the "ADJ" and "MODE" buttons on the dashboard are totally unresponsive, is this a commune problem ? (I have a similar problem on my Vespa where you really have to jam the buttons in order for them to respond)

Is there a fix or a "trick" to make these buttons work again....?

Thank you.

I think you stole a nearly new scoot! 1500 miles is not broken in yet.

The mode and adjust not responding is either contact contamination or bad solder joints, maybe both. Another possibility they were both damaged by the ham-handed clod that owned it before you by pushing too hard. This system is a little agravating to get used to and nearly impossible if the owner's manual is ignored.

Thank you Karl, any suggestions with a quick fix...? or what does it take to fix this problem...?

(I normally try WD-40 on just about anything except my coffee but I am a lil reluctant to try it here)

Replace the instrument since you have to cut it open to troubleshoot and repair.IF that is the problem.
