Tell me do I change both oils motor and gear? Would like to avoid the gear one.  I find that one a pain to get oil into it.

Or you could use something like this; https://www.amazon.com/FJC-2731-Syringe-Oil-Injector/dp/B000HI0UK0/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1510828065&sr=8-4&keywords=oil+syringe

Walmart stores carry a similar syringe in their motor oil section.

Thanks Mr Paul, I'm gonna yank it out tomorrow and get it tested.

No worries Julian. Chances are that is all that is wrong, hopefully! Please let us know how it turns out and keep posting.

Hey Julian. I would first check the battery. A bad battery will still have enough "juice" to run your lights but not enough to crank your scooter.

I'm glad you are OK Ciderboy but man, sorry about your Kymco! I know you had safety boots on, but did you have other safety gear?

General Discussion / Re: Oil Filters
« on: November 09, 2017, 11:59:58 PM »
I have done that Mr Paul and felt some what safer, but anytime you let another person have your card number, for any reason, you are putting yourself at risk. Most banks are now including languish in their banking rules that protect them from any loss that a customer might incur while using their bank credit/debit cards. I have been warned about allowing a waitress'or waiter taking my card out of my sight when paying for a meal.  At any rate I rode the fifty miles today and bought 2 Hiflo 566 oil filters, so I'm good to go for awhile. Rode the DT and turned in into a fun trip, Around 60 degrees and sunny. The credit card monster didn't get me today ;D

I completely understand Mac. 60 degrees and sunny is my kind of weather!

Thanks Karl. They are online every where, but we are getting reluctant to put a card number on an unsecured line. I wish there were a safe way to shop on line. I change my Mobil 1 10-40w every 6 months or every 4000 miles WCF. I doubt that I put even 1,000 miles on it in that time. I think I may go to a oil filter change every other time. One thing I know, Walmart doesn't have anything any way close to a HiFlo 566. Later bud

Hey Mac. If you're comfortable doing so, you could call them and place your order over the phone.

The suggestions Karl and others gave is spot-on. I have found that slightly lighter rollers help also. Think of it like taking off in 1st gear instead of 2nd.

Agility 50 / Re: Agility 50 Best $400 Spent
« on: November 06, 2017, 08:43:20 PM »
I suggest you sell the Agility 50, add the 400 dollars, and buy a 150. You will be much faster and happier in the long run. (And will spend less money over time.) If you have to stay with a 50cc because of practical issues I really wish you the best. :)

Technical | How To / Re: Should I adjust Valves on B&W 250
« on: November 06, 2017, 08:32:43 PM »
I wouldn't say my technical skill is great, but I've taken the panels off the scooter to replace sparkplugs and changed the oil and transmission oil. The scooter requires a couple of tries to start when cold, when I haven't ridden it for a week or two, but after it's warmed up it starts fine. I think that might have to do with the automatic choke. I have a service manual that explains how to adjust the valves, but my concern is getting the engine at TDC. Do I need a special wrench to turn it, and is there a nut to attach the wrench to?

No special wrench needed, actually no wrench at all. You could turn the engine with your hand on the outer variator pulley. Removal of the spark plug makes it super easy.

I've been riding it over to vacant parking lots for the wife to get some seat time learning to ride it. More I ride it, more comfortable I've become on it and feels less sketchy to me after getting some new tires. My knees are still in the way of the bars and my feet don't fit on the floorboards. But I gotta admit it's pretty fun to ride in a clown-car kinda way.

Kind of like this?  ;D
