Gasoline in airfilter & restricted intake?
« on: April 22, 2016, 12:43:30 PM »
Hello
I took apart the airbox today and saw a very small amount of gasoline that been running from the carb.
Is that normal. Posted a pic

I see that i have a restriction? on the intake.
Should it stay or be removen?
Posted a pic

Thanks in advance

You'll probably get a little gas spiting back. So as long as it's not dripping out of the box after a ride you're OK. I see white spots inside if the air box. Are you using 10% ethanol fuel? If you can use ethanol free gas your carb will be happier!!! Ethanol turns back to sugar & plugs/gums things up!!!
On my 2013 Agility the tube from the box to the carb had a restriction that I ground out. I also cut holes in the plate/box from the inlet air side to the air filter
My wife never asked, " can you make it go faster?" until we bought a 4 stroke Moped. My reply, "yes dear"

Did you have to rejet after you drilled the holes on your air box? I was thinking of drilling around a 3/4 inch hole in mine and jetting it for warm weather and then plugging it each winter instead of rejetting for winter.

I put a 72cc BB in it so I ended up with a bigger carb, 20mm Keihin. If you derestricted & put a 85 or 88 jet in you should be ok.
