XTown 300 i or Downtown experience with Givi D294ST Windshield
« on: September 18, 2019, 06:35:19 PM »
Anyone have experience with this D294ST Givi Windshield ?----it offers some hand protection and may offer better arm cold air protection in winter.   But at 32 inches high would require a 5-7 inch cut for safe look over.
Price right now about $180. I seem to be always willing to spend money for things the OEM did not develop......and should have!   These bikes are no good if you cannot ride them in some degree of comfort, especially long distance.

John, the D294ST came on my bike. When I sit in the seat, no cushion, then the windshield is too high. But when I  put my cushion on, I  can comfortably see over the windshield. If you are shorter or have a short torso, then you would have to cut it to see over it. I think you ride around the N GA area? We can always meet up sometime and you can check it out. Also, there are a couple of shippers out of Italy on ebay, and they could get it to you for about $40 less...

Right now my XTown has Puig touring screen, cut down about 4 inches, Laminar Lip, bolted on---comfortable look over and about as good as it will get on maxi scooter with your nose being 22-24 inches from tip of shield---this may be the best arrangement on the 11 maxi scooters I have owned....over 400,000 miles with them.  Width of screen provides good winter comfort.

Note: standard shield, with Laminar Lip is too cold for winter use, screen being too narrow---shoulders get cold.

My X-Town 300i with GIVI D294ST windscreen works really well for me.  So much better than OEM windscreen. Easy to install. Use original mounting bolts and grommet pads. Very Satisfied.
