Xciting 500 / Re: GPR Exhaust Slip ON Cannister
« on: April 03, 2008, 05:29:10 AM »
It is made in Italy by a company that makes exhaust for MOTO GP racers and others. Google GPR it. and have google translate it for you, to see more about the manufacturer.  It's on an ebay store. Search ebay for the Lenas Performance store, or just put in Kymco Xciting 500, and you can find it either way Happy hunting! It is extremely light!  I may see if I can possibly make the center, and the only baffle in it, removeable in mine, to make it sound a little deeper and louder!  But this little voice of reason says; Leave well enough alone!  Look at the inside of it before you put it on. Just hold it up to a bright light, look through, and you can see why I'm tempted to modify. Very simple. No rejetting is required. Ask seller about EFI change if you happen to have an 08. It takes a little longer to arrive, than I expected, because it has to come from Italy. 1.5 to 2weeks, if I remember right.  Extremely simple bolt on. Looks so much cooler than stock 25 pounder apx. est.

Peace Out!

They should hire me. Already working for them everywhere I go people ask me questions. A little boy, about 5 or 6, said to me at the video store; I like your bike!  I said; Why Thank You.  He replied back;  My dad is gona freak out!  I guess he could not wait to tell him.  Impressing the little boys is the most fun of all! ;D   Wish I had the connections and money to start a KYMCO shop in my home town. There is not a local, big 4, motorcycle dealer here but, I've never seen so many bikes in one town, per capita, as this one. Shelbyville IN. Vespa dealor started up a few years ago. They are way overpriced. I saw a 250cc Vespa ON SALE for $200 more than my Xciting 500 list for. And that was in January. Nobody rides in January here. Burr!! I rode today at 40 degrees but I have Tourmaster heated clothing. Nice and toasty. There were a couple of Harleys out bar hoping! I never saw anyone else out side of town. I was warm as toast but all that gear and full face helmit takes some of the free feeling out of it. Should warm up any day. It'll be April soon!

Xciting 500 / GPR Exhaust Slip ON Cannister

Recently found a Slip On Cannistor from a co. in Italy called GPR. They make Xhausts for Moto GP racers and others. Sonds good if you are tired of that sewing machine sound try this! Web page is  GPR it. I got It from Lenas Performance on Ebay. Takes a little while to get it from Italy, but I like the sound better than Leo Vance and it is lighter. Here is a pic.

General Discussion / Wussies on Maxi Scooter Forum
« on: February 07, 2008, 05:49:10 AM »
Go to the Maxi Scooter Web Forum and listen to the big cry babies gripe and bicker like a bunch of old church wemon! Look for the recent post By John B with the U-Tube video he titled; Drunk on a scooter! Video of a Suzuki 650 Burgman. I put up a post but it was not politically correct enough, I suppose, and it was stopped by Mr Moderator.  What happened to freedom of speech! I didn't even cus! One guy says his Suzuki Burgman 650 wiggles in the turns if he pushes it to much. Ha HA - My Xciting 500 doesn't wiggle in a turn unless you don't apply the back brake. I was tryng to make it wiggle in the corners one day and the only way was to brake in the corner without the left brake lever or rear brake. And it only wiggled slightly then. Made me laugh because it handled so good. My Xciting 500 is just that; Exciting! Glad I did not buy a burgy! Personally when I got on one of those I thought man this thing is a whale. They wiggle in the corners! Turns out I was right. It is a Whale! Can't wait to race a burgy! ;D ;D ;D

Junkrider, yeah you got that right, Linhai is a junkrider, nothing more than Communist Chinese ripoff! I owned a Linhai once, and I spent more time working on it than riding it!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( Do you know the dealer only paid about $900 for that thing you got! How good can it be? Take your stupid opinions somewhere else, please. It is not your mission to bash Kymco. Your comments do not sound like anyone who actually owns one! Bad ergo's.  Did you forget to sit on the bike before you bought it?  I think you are some sick nut, that gets his kicks making trouble!  Go Away!!!!!!!!!   Do something constructive with your life!  Please!!!!!!

General Discussion / Re: 500 Xciting vs Burgie and Silver Wing
« on: December 13, 2007, 06:21:22 AM »
I truly feel the only way to figure out what you want is to go and sit on them. Try them all. The one that's right for you may not be tolorable to someone else. Buying a bike is such a personal choice. I felt like the suziki 650 Burgy was a whale and way to heavy. The Kymco Xciting was just right for my needs. I rode 4700 trouble free miles last summer on it. At first It felt a little heavy for me, because I wear an Artifical leg. But I took my time and got used to it. Now I dart all over town in places I thought I would have to avoid. It feels light when ridding, but if you turn to slow and lean to far over it gets heavy quick. Now slow manuvering turns are a natural for me. Big Thumper is keeping me young!

General Discussion / Re: What made you get a Kymco?
« on: December 11, 2007, 09:05:05 PM »
After owning several motorcycles, Honda 250 motorcross, Honda 450, Honda 750, and a Yamaha 1100. I stayed of bikes for a while, because of an injury in a farming accident. So later I started investigating scoots because I had trouble after the accident operating the right foot actuated rear brake on a motorcycle. I had a couple of junk china scoots and then learned of kymco's good quality. I tried out sitting on several, Suzuki, Honda, and a Kymco Xciting 500. The price of the Kymco Xciting 500 was $2000 less than a 580cc Honda twin cylinder. I personally did not like the ergonomics of the Honda. When I sat on the Kymco Xciting 500 I knew it was the one. And the fact that the Kymco is a single cylinder, Thumper. I knew it would have a lot of torque. ;D  I rode it summer of 07 and put on 4700 trouble free miles! Now I'm a big Kymco kid at 54 yrs. Old.! ;D ;D :o 8)

I have a 07 Xciting 500 and love it. Seat is a little hard after 1hr ride, but I already had a Airhawk seat cushion. With the Airhawk seat cushion it works better than any other stock seat I've had. I've had several Honda's and 1 Yamaha 1100. All were good bikes and so is the Xciting 500. I've ridden 4700 trouble free miles during the summer of 07. I've had more fun on this Xciting 500 than any other road bike I've owned.  I like it better than the choices Honda had, and it was $2000 less than a 580cc Silverwing.  I got a K&N 147 Oil filter at Autozone for $12. I make my own air filters from UNI foam Sheet. $7 for about 5 of them. Uni Foam is used by Motorcross Racers. These days you have to learn how to improvise, to save a few bucks! ;D
