Christmas, New Years, and its cold out there...


I had to get a new headlamp bulb today, because yesterday I came out of the movies ( saw Avatar in 3d and Sherlock Holmes ) and when I started up the bulb popped!

Cold as...

Sigh...

Because of all the money I save on transport by driving my Agility, I can go to the movies far more often than I do...

Unfortunately, there just aren't that many movies that I am interested enough in to go to the theater.  Avatar in 3d is great, and Sherlock Holmes was a lot of fun.

Yesterday, I got my new bulb, and went to the Bestbuy to spend my Christmas gift cards on a new prepaid cell.  People keep saying to me, why don't you buy a car?  All I can say to them - which they have trouble arguing with - is if I need a car I can rent one, otherwise I am glad to save much money by riding a scooter which I can then spend on my hobbies...

I find it funny when people go on about their great car, but can't afford to go anywhere in it...

...my stock headlamp socket went by the a long time ago...I've adapted an automotive socket and a 35 watt lamp in it's place...

..it was very tedious getting the beam to project properly, but it's a bit brighter than the original...

I changed my rollersto 4.5s, hacked my stock air filter for more airflow, and went to an 85 jet.  Can't ride it because Thursday night we had our first snowfall, and here in Atlanta if you're lucky it doesn't turn to ice - I'm not lucky.  Probably won't thaw until Monday....

I tried to ride before I saw the ice, and promptly dumped my scoot on the road.  Getting it back to the house was fun!

I've got scratches...

..it was 13 degrees here lin central NC ast night...ccccollddd....

..we missed the precipitation yesterday..

..i've heard some A50s run a smaller jet than I do...i'm running a 105...

..i'm finding that I might have a different breed of agility..my engine is a CK139QMB-2..

..seems they have different piston rings, and i'm investigating the carb and intake diameters..

Well, I am using a different carb.  Because the stock carb is really nice, but you can't adjust the needle height when tuning.  It won't even start with a 90 jet and a free flow air filter...  ( at least I couldn't get it too )

...i trimmed the star-shaped nylon retaining clip that holds the needle in place...filed dwn a washer to .025" which I placed beneath the head of the needle...

..i'm able to raise or lower my needle that way...

...if I try to run less than a 105 jet, my scoot busts out at top end, and I loose 4-5 mph top speed..

..I have adapted a "warm air induction" to my filter to help out on these cold winter days...
