For Sale / 2012 Blue, audio-comfort Goldwing for sale.
« on: September 10, 2014, 04:56:03 PM »
My GW has only 6,000 original miles on it and is Pristine, just serviced and ready to go. It is stock but it comes with a OEM Honda MP3 pigtail. I am the original owner, with title in hand. No 'hesitation' or 'ghost shifting' issues of any kind. Digital pictures for interested parties only, just PM me first. It is a Level 1.

I'm located in SW Missouri, right at the intersection of Interstate 44 and Interstate 49, closely bordered by Oklahoma and Kansas.

There are local airports like Springfield, MO, Kansas City, MO, Joplin, MO and Tulsa, OK that a purchaser could fly into and do a fly-in---ride home vacation.

$16, 900 or best offer. 417-388-1233 cell 4pfarm@gmail.com

General Discussion / Increased fuel mileage:)
« on: August 23, 2014, 03:04:10 PM »
I am meticulous about keeping a record of fuel mileage on all my vehicles. I always keep the receipts and write the number of miles traveled, divided by the amount of fuel and write it down---why? I don't know, it's an obsession:)

I recently changed oil for the 3rd time in 4,000 miles and decided to try some of my Mobil 1 synthetic, 5w-20 in the Xciting 500. Now this is preliminary but I got 47.87 mpg on the first fill up since using this new 'energy saving' oil. I have always got 40-43 mpg on the same roads at the same speed, so I wonder if this new slicker, energy saving oil caused this? A 5 to 7 mpg increase is significant:)

General Discussion / Got a new toy!!

Howdy!

I just bought a 2005 Suzuki 650 Burgman, with only 2,300 miles on it, all serviced and with a new battery. It also has the factory optional passenger backrest. It is pristine and absolutely like new.

I bought it from an older gentleman who'd just purchased a 2014 Goldwing and didn't need a scooter too. (Imagine that!!)

This is my 3rd 650 cheeseburger, I had a 2003,2007 and now this one.

It looks good parked next to my 2013 Xciting 500 and the Goldwing. The Burger and the wing are both metallic blue. I might just sell the 500 !!!!!!

Roadcraft / Ozark breakast ride :)
« on: July 07, 2014, 05:33:09 PM »
I just got back from a 120 mile round trip ride through the beautiful and scenic Ozarks! The ride started out at 77 degrees and ended up at 97 by the time I got home. Breakfast and coffee was superlative at my favorite restaurant in Marionville, MO.

The Exciting 500 took precedence over the Goldwing again because of the fun factor. The first half of the ride was on small and curvy country roads where the average speed was probably 35-40 mph. On the way back at least 40 miles was traversed at 65-70 mph and the scoot hardly acted any differently than the earlier sedate pace.

This scoot is amazing.

Xciting 500 / Xciting 500 rear tire
« on: June 11, 2014, 04:55:00 PM »
I read through a few threads but maybe some of you can give me your latest opinions on a new radial rear tire for my 500. I want a PREMIUM tire and cost is no object.

What's on there now (With a big staple through it) is a Maxxis 150/70 R14. What about a bigger beefier tire?

Thanks!

Xciting 700i / 700 ergonomics
« on: June 06, 2014, 04:36:51 PM »
Is the 700 more cramped than my 500? They look the same on Kymco's site but I've never seen one in person.

Xciting 700i / 700I prices?
« on: June 06, 2014, 12:23:04 PM »
I have been considering a new 700 Kymco but I had a question:  What prices have you seen for the scoot? Nobody pays retail that I know of and I never will. I am interested in sales prices in the United States only and the Dealers names and locations.

I love my new 500 but I bet I would like the 700 even more:)

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Roadcraft / Beautiful day in the Ozarks.
« on: May 04, 2014, 05:44:57 PM »
I rode 170 miles today and it felt good to be in the saddle again after all of the cold weather we've had up until about a week ago. It was 70 degrees when I started out, then quickly rose to 80 and was 90 when I got home at exactly noon. The Columbian blend and donut was excellent at about the half way point. All of the River's and Lake's are up and the field's and crop's are bright green and topped off with blue skies:)

I hope you day was as nice as mine!

Xciting 500 / My 500 really moves!!!
« on: April 10, 2014, 02:28:47 PM »
I am amazed every time I ride my new 500, with it's comfort and especially the power that the 500cc single puts out, effortlessly. The 'Mid range' from say 30 mph to 70 is as quick as either my past T-max 500 or either of my 650 Burgmans. Both of the aforementioned have higher top speeds and may accelerate faster from a stop but in a roll on, I bet the 500 Xciting would leave them!

I had a beautiful ride in to work today at 65 degrees, going up to 75 they say! Finally this weather will let us ride!!

Xciting 700i / 700 Ha-ha-ha
« on: March 14, 2014, 04:57:38 PM »
Lot's of us waited for a long time for this 700 and after 3 or 4 years after it was announced, it shows up supposedly in U.S. showrooms but apparently no one is buying them---a few test rides but no purchases! Besides being expensive, is the scoot that bad?

General Discussion / Pet Blessings.
« on: March 04, 2014, 05:23:46 PM »
Pet peeves could go on forever in this society and is a downer to think about and being negative is no fun.

How about your blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'll start:

I thank GOD for being saved.

I'm blessed to be relatively healthy and for healthy, beautiful and smart kid's and grandkid's.

I'm so blessed to have had a good life and a wonderful and supportive family.

I'm so blessed to still be in love with my wife of 40 years, that has made life grand!

I'm blessed to have had some very good jobs that provided a very good living.

I'm blessed to have another family business that keeps the family busy and working together.

I'm blessed to have and have had in the past, lots of scooters and bikes to enjoy.

I'm blessed to live in a country that the poorest person is 'richer' than 95% of the people in the world.

I'm blessed to live in a free country and democracy where all are equal.

I'm blessed to have many Church brother's and sister's to worship freely with.

I'm blessed to have been able to travel all over the United States for business very frequently.

I'm blessed for a day like today when although cold (18 degree's) I can breathe good clean air and enjoy the blue skies and bright sunlight.

Your turn:)
