My Kymco has a plastic screw on collar behind the panel.
Unplug the switch and replace.

Well, i have that backwards..
.the screw off collar is on the front of the panel.
Sorry, this was no help to you. Lock smiths can do more than we imagine at times. Agree with 'bolt's suggestion....go to their shop and give them a try.

The key cylinder was removed from my bike. I'm using a screw driver to turn on the ignition and to lock the fork. I was just wondering if it's possible to install the key cylinder from another scooter into the housing (bolted to the steering head) of my bike. All the various models seem to have different housings, but maybe the cylinders are interchangeable?

Try a locksmith.

Good point. This is not the first post like this.
My home town locksmith will need to see ID and registration or title, before working on a vehicles ignition switch.

It might well have been stolen at some point. I received a title for it when I purchased it.

You should have no problem then at your local lock smith. Cheaper if you take the scoot to him.
A good lock guy can do wonders for less than you'd imagine.
