General Discussion / Re: What do you think of this?
« on: May 11, 2021, 02:13:54 AM »
Nope
I'm not seeing the aesthetic here, just looks like a mess and the artist is taking credit for what's already there just mixing it up?
Although I'm not on board with the flat black/no chrome thing as well, I think this is just done to generate buzz.
Stig, I'm glad you were able to come back to work after service. Why they would give you a hassle is beyond my understanding.

On a ship moored at naval base.  Made ready to sortie, everyone thought war was imminent. Wife (fiancĂ© at the time) and I flew to Italy on honeymoon a month later. Thought it might be the safest time to fly.

Could the spark plug cap or the ground wire connection be an issue here? Seems to happen when the engine warms up.

You sure that's not Australian?  ;D

Yes I do.  Been riding motorcycles since 1982 and scooters since 2005.  I enjoy the heck out of both, and don't care what people think.

170,000 miles on the same oil? I am interested to hear how this is done; are you using an oil centrifuge or some type of dark arts?
No disrespect intended, but I suspect there may be ways to do this.

That's a very good idea, IMHO.  I've always been very wary of being hit from behind by some distracted driver; even more in the past ten years or so.  I always stop at an angle behind cars at a stop light or sign, and keep an eye in the mirror for knuckleheads approaching. Phones  ::)
Do you draw the voltage from the rear tail light assembly?

My hat's off to you, Stig. Here in RI it was in the mid-fifties, and I got to take the Guzzi out for a couple of hours on all back roads It's been a very mild winter here, so not much sand on the roads; all good.  Wimpy; I don't like to ride if the temp falls below 40.
Hoping for early spring!

Technical | How To / Re: My carbon footprint....

I get a statement every month (separate from the bill) shaming me for my power usage relative to my neighbors.
Thing is, most (about 75%) are south for the winter and their houses are shut down for a few months.  So I am being compared to almost zero use.
Postage+paper+etc= wtf?

I've always kept the coverage effective year-round; around $230 total to cover 3 scooters and the Moto Guzzi seems cheap to me.  Especially when we get a day like today in February-50 degrees here in RI and went for a ride.

That sucks. Hoping it's a very short term thing.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and hoping you and yours have a healthy and happy 2020.

OK, but why?  Seems like the Like's EFI system works very well for me, even in cold weather.
Seems like a step backwards... ???

Yes!
Also fairy tales start with "Once upon a time", but sea stories start with "This is no BS"
And each finish with "And they lived happily ever after"  or "And it's been F'd up ever since"
Just had to add that,
Ride safe Stig, I'm putting the scoots to bed for winter here in RI, kudos to you for riding year round!
