Post by: Iahawk on March 22, 2017, 05:06:25 PM
was just wondering about this...do our Kymco scooters use JIS or Phillips screws? Not sure if the Taiwanese copied the Japanese screws...

I have not seen any torex  or JIS  screws on my downtown or yager - frost or robertsons  screws,   all I see is metric bolts & allen bolts and phillips screws and a few hex bolts for the axels  ,

Do use the correct size of Phillips....I had to buy the big one for tight body panel fasteners on my LIKE200i.
And, yes, you better use the JIS for those tight screws on Japanese bikes & scooters!
I found out the hard way on a goofy little brake reservoir screw on a Honda Forza!
