Help: Xciting 500 (carb) won't start

This morning my X wouldn't start. The startermotor turns normally, but the engine won't fire up...
I know there could be many reasons, but where to start?

Won't start again!

When starting the sparkplug is quickly flooded so it wont't start en meanwhile the battery runs out of juice. I dried the sparkplug and recharged the battery and after that it would start normally.

This morning wouldn't start again  >:(
When starting the battery icon on the dashboard lights up after 10 seconds. I read on the manual that this means voltage is below 11 volts.

The battery was installed january 2014.

Need ideas guys.

I have this issue with my 2010 EFI. I just bought a new battery. Charging measured at battery while idling no lights on, 13.15 volts.  I am told it should be 13.95 . I used to own a grandchild 2006 and the choke was seized solid. Check these mentioned things out.

I am hoping the new battery will keep the morning cold start issues at bay for a while.

I also have trickle charge on during winter here in south Africa.
Scoot parks outside under net gazebo.

EFI bikes will have lower charging  at idle because it has to run the fuel pump and injectors. Anything over 13v at idle is good. Also the x500 is horrible on batteries, only really get a couple chances to start it before it starts to crank weak.

Someone explained to me that if there is not enough juice to create a strong spark the sparkplug will flood etc. etc.
Is there a logic in that?

The 500cc engine is HUGE, so if the battery has enough grunt to crank it over, it has enough to spark just fine. You'll know if the battery is bad on the 500 because it cranks very slow to almost no cranking.
