I believe the valve cover bolts are 8.9 Nm. That's from memory

To post pics, instead of quick reply do this:

That's on a tablet. Not sure if it's the same for a PC

It was just too good a deal to pass up. $4800 OTD. Crazy! I was looking at the Downtown 300i too, but this deal was too good to pass up. Still have the Like though.

Not meaning to be a D hole and brag, but I bought mine the end of March and have over 4700 miles on mine.

I agree too Stig. I'm no mechanical wiz, but this scooter is easy to work on. My first valve clearance check was 1 1/4 hours watching that excellent YouTube video. Spark plug is right there when you do that procedure. Engine oil is 20 minutes. Trans maybe 25. I love simple and low stress projects like this. It's an easy way to feel like I accomplished something. I also know it was done right. Save $ too!

Post back what happens please. A review too if you buy it. I'm looking to go bigger too. I'd like to do some touring in my state. I've got my eye on a Piaggio right now that's a really great deal.

Probably a lot more traffic then whee you are at Stig. Yeah, I go there on my scooter all hours of the day. It's probably not real smart, but I sometimes ride home late at night too. Usually I try to keep it in the daylight hours.
I ride from Huntington Beach to Anaheim. It's about a forty minute ride or so on surface streets. I know all the best roads to get there. The ones with the fewest blind intersections, best street lights, etc.
I'm a huge Disney fan. I go almost every weekend at least for a couple hours.

Odd. My experience is this. I have filled up and ridden just shrt distances to home and parked in my garage. Always on the kickstand, and never once got the puddle of gas. The only time I got the puddle is when I parked it on the center stand with a full tank, and the tank was just barely to the bar.

I just might be picking up my second scooter tomorrow night. Saw a heck of a deal on a used SYM Citycom 300i

« on: December 03, 2013, 03:08:21 AM »
I'll agree that it is a small exit, but our engine is small. When you consider that a typical 4 cylinder car engine is 2000cc, that's 12X our engine displacement. Maybe our exhaust isn't so small.
I've replaced the exhaust on different cars I've owned. Mustang Cobra, Chevy Corvette, Nissan 350Z (ugh, what a terrible car that was), and never got a noticeable performance gain in any of those. Be skeptical to those hp gains, and you will be smart. Now if you are doing it for the sound, that's entirely different.
