If you're satisfied with the acceleration now, just wait till you have it fully broke in! You'll be really happy! It took mine about 3000 miles or more before I stopped noticing performance gains.

Having a top box is a huge convenience. I have another scooter too. A Piaggio BV350. I have Piaggio's accessory top box for it, the larger of two they offer. It comes on and off in seconds using the ignition key lock which is just great! Since the BV has a lot of under seat storage most of the time I don't even bother having the top box on. With the top box on I can fit three bags of groceries!

Yeah, $2500 is definitely not bad. I paid almost $3000 OTD for a new one last March. I don't know if these kinds of great deals were around then like they are now.

Like Stig said it is big enough for almost any helmet. I fit my xxxl shoei rf1100 with no problem. I can fit a full bag of groceries in there. It's smaller than a typical aftermarket top box though.

If you find one and you are over 6' tall, try sitting in the rear half of the seat. That's what I've been doing for the 5000 miles I've had mine. It works for me.

Check Craig's list and motorcycle trader. In Southern California there are two dealers that sell Likes for $1999. I don't know the OTD price. There was a dealer in Pasadena that had a Like with 35 miles that was listed at $1500.

General Discussion / Re: Spark Plug Gap
« on: January 20, 2014, 03:21:12 AM »
My factory plug was gapped much tighter than spec on my Like. I noticed it running better after too, but I also adjusted the exhaust valve and replaced the air filter. That's one negative to doing several things all at the same time. I don't know which made it run better.

The Like is a good scoot. I think you'll be happy.

If you haven't already, you might want to google the subject. I have read that air cooled motors should be given cool down time when being run for longer rides in extreme heat. Ex, stop and eat a long lunch. If you just do twenty minute rides with a good interval between rides you would probably be fine with no negative effects.

My God, guess what my first car was when I was in high school? A 1973 silver dodge colt!

I just throw a rag over the battery just incase I drop a tool on it. I don't bother disconnecting the battery. It is not necessary to disconnect the spark plug unless you are replacing the plug. There is on small hose that you need to take loose and layer pit back on. It's all in the video.
I followed the video the first time and removed the battery. I think that's overkill though.

Search YouTube. Type in Kymco like 200i valve clearance check. There's an excellent video that walks you through the entire process. I'm not all that mechanically inclined, but with the help of the video I found it to be pretty easy. I did my first check at about 1000 miles. Intake valve was almost 0.005, but I did not adjust. The second check was maybe 3500 miles, and the intake was 0.005" and I adjusted it to 0.004". The exhaust valve was spot on 0.004".  I'll check them again at around 6000 miles.
When no adjustment is necessary it's about an hour. With adjustment it takes a good twenty minutes longer, as I try and get it perfect.
