« on: October 06, 2019, 09:09:37 PM »
Rear drivers side axle snapped at the hub clean off. No luck finding any parts online. And my dealer that was 10 minutes away from me is no more. Next closest one is 100 miles away. Anybody else have an axle snap yet?

Side By Side / 450i lift kit
« on: September 28, 2016, 12:26:30 AM »
So this last weekend my wife and I went on a 60 mile ride with a local atv club for charity. In the process I did some damage to my skid plate, pretty well totaled it. I didn't have the ground clearance of all the other machines. I only had 8" ground clearance front and rear.

Well I decided to move the front shock mount to the outside as the are 2 possible mounting locations. Then I preloaded the front springs. So now I have a full 12" clearance in the front.
The rear shock mounts also have another option to mount them, but in order to do that I would have to disconnect the sway bars, or Fab a new one, which I don't have the know how to do. So a buddy of mine is making a bolt on shock mount lift that I could place on the lower a arm. Without the new lift the most clearance I can get is 9 1/2" at the rear with springs preloaded.

Anyone else run into this issue, or lift their 450i

Side By Side / Trouble shooting 450i
« on: August 30, 2016, 12:49:05 AM »
So went to start the 450i today. Dead battery. We charged it enough to start it. Now every time I touch the gas just a little, it dies as soon as you let off. Checked the spark plug. It was a little dirty, so we cleaned it up and checked the gap. Made no change. In order to start it you had to give it throttle. The. As soon as you let off it dies again. So we thought it had bad fuel. Put some stabilizer in it, then took for a ride down the road to mix it up. It started skipping at 20 mph and cutting out. After that it died and wouldn't start. So we used and come a long and loaded it on the trailer to bring it home. Once I got there I started it for sh**s and giggles. Damn thing runs like a champ now. Drive it for 15 minutes and it stalled 2 times. Not perfect obviously but considerably better.

So I am geussing it is bad gas, tomorrow I will siphon it all out and replace with fresh super and stabilizer. Unless anyone has any better ideas

Thanks

Side By Side / Towing
« on: June 24, 2016, 03:14:31 AM »
So I am towing my 450i to New Hampshire Sunday. Just finished installing a home made 1/4" lexan windshield ( 2 piece folding), and a 1 piece rear window bent to the curve of the rear roll bar. I was wondering if I should tow the 450i backwards, as the rear window seems much stronger to me. I don't want to flex the windshield towing it forwards. I can flex it by hand a little bit. But the rear window feels like it could stop a bullet. Any suggestions, how does everybody else tow that have windshields?

Side By Side / Kymco dealer
« on: June 16, 2016, 12:28:39 AM »
Just found out my local kymco dealer dropped kymco as a line. Not selling enough inventory around here. My 450i was only the 4th side x side they had sold in 4 years. With Yamaha, Polaris, and Honda dealerships all within 10 minutes, everybody goes for the big name. Guess next time I want a part I'll have a couple hour drive

Side By Side / Replacement plastic for 450i
« on: May 11, 2016, 03:04:35 AM »
So my wife, son and I took our 450i out for its first trail ride last weekend. Well I proceeded to get it mired in mud almost up to the seat. And in the process of winching out, I managed to break not one, but 3 separate pieces of plastic. Any ideas where I could purchase some or manufacturer only kinda thing?

Side By Side / Roof, radio, or any mods to uxv 450
« on: April 07, 2016, 02:48:07 AM »
Hi new to kymco. Just bought a 2015 450 a month ago. Can't find anyone talking about making their own roof, radios, windshields, cabs etc. wondering if anyone here does. I know a lot of the Polaris, and Yamaha guys do ( but they have aftermarket options) kymco I have found is hard to find anything for the 450 series uxv. Looking to mod my uxv, and just seeing if anyone else has done anything.

Thanks
Derrick
