Been doing a lot of riding around lately sice the weathers been a bit better, thought i'd post some pics of my tours. Some pictures from around Scotland, ride in the Campsie Hills, down by the Gareloch and from the bonnie bonie banks of Loch Lomond (im sure most of you all heard the song). We got some great country roads for riding on and traffic is normally non-existant. All these rides where within a half hour to an hour of my house ( if you ride fast

Think i just won a £50 fuel card for free from Kymco UK
Dont even remember applying? They said it was a random draw, my name got chosen, so i won it. I think
Just sent in my address so we'll see if it is indeed me, hope so.

My one and only REAL new years resolution is to treat my Kymco a little better this year. Since i got my other scoot ive been neglecting little Kimmie a bit and im think he must be feeling a bit left out. Rarely wash it much apart from a blast with a jetwash 3/4 times a year, been neglecting tinkering and tuning it, and generally just treating it as my workhorse this last year. In the 2-3 years ive owned him he has never really let me down and always starts when i need it, he takes me to work every day thro rain, wind, sleet and the cold, so i think he desreves to have some more attention for his loyalty and service. Just started him up after hes sat out in the cold and wet for 2 wks and he fired right up

Its officially winter here in Scotland, snow and ice is heading in fast. I wondered whats the coldest temperature you've riden in was? Todays ride to work for me was probably one of the coldest days ive riden on, was -7°c or around 19°f but adding in the windchill it prob felt like well over -10. Was fine all wrapped up in my big coat but i had left my overmitts at work yesterday so by the time i arrived this morning i thought my thumbs had frozen solid
Still be riding again tomorrow unless it snows good or its too icy on the roads.

General Discussion / My 1st crash of the winter.

Had my 1st wipe-out of the winter going to work on Monday morning when i hit some black ice on the road. Funny thing is my own street is quiet and had no ice on it but where i came off is a busier road and that had ice ?? Wasnt just a small patch either, the whole road was just a sheet of ice, i had bother getting up and pushing the scoot off the road cos it was so slippy!
No cars even bothered to stop and offer help, even tho when i got up i had 2 behind me that stopped cos i was laying in the road. Soon as i moved off the road they both drove round me and drove away, nice
More annoying is i was on my metal Vespa and not the plastic Kymco. Just spent the best part of a year restoring the Vespa from a wreck to a piece of art, now its a bit of art with scrapes along its side
Actually wasnt as bad as i imagined as i was sliding along the road beside it, busted brake lever, bust kickstart, bust indicator, and a couple other wee bits, scraped along rear panel, bash at base of legshield and bashed/bent front mudguard. Im not too happy as you can guess, i only just put 1000km's on it last week since the build..... Will get it fixed up in the next 2-3 wks hopefully then its going away to only ride on nice days. Bummer is i wasnt even going to go into work on Monday, but did, and i had planned to take the Vespa off the road for the winter in the next week or two. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
So anyway, watch out for that ice on the roads cos its a comin!!!

Just browsing on ebay and i found this gorgeous old Lambretta, its now sold (no i didnt buy it unfortunately) just wish i had seen it earlier, im sure i couldve squeezed it in my garage somehow with out the wife seeing it
Heres the full ad with lots more pics of it. Wont be to everyones taste but i always loved the rat-look and sleeper look. How cool would this be all souped up, blasting away from the lights

Just wondered what the averave age group of the forum is, if you want to answer then do, if not then dont. Its all cool.
I started it off, still scrape into the 30-40 group, at least till December anyway.
