Kymco People S 200 ~ "Slow Jet" in carburetor
« on: July 04, 2022, 09:29:23 PM »
Hello Group,

I picked up a 200 that's been sitting for years. It was owned by a neighbor that purchased it new.
"Ran when parked."

I've removed and cleaned the carb, and have a question about the "Slow Jet". Are there only holes on the tip, or is there also a hole through the center?  If so, it's clogged, and I can't seem to get it cleared.

My guess is that it doesn't have a through hole....and only holes on the tip.

Can anyone confirm either way?

Thanks, Jay

all right...my ears were twitching! ...but it looks like problem is solved. Yes, pilot jet has both small holes in sides and 1 hole running through it (like a straw). I have had a lot of challenges with my pilot jet(s) over the years. The opening is so small it can be very difficult to clean. I've purchased a few spare pilot jets so I'll always have a clean one (or two) on hand. Our scoot uses a 35 pilot jet.

edit - you're dead on with your measurement. the 35 jet has a .35mm internal opening (converts to .01377")

I don't believe I've seen the auto bystarter o ring sold separately..you may be able to take it off and take it to an old school hardware store that carries a large selection of o rings and match it up. My Ace Hardware (was a Tru Value for years) is one of those..

link to a good site for our jets:
