Position Light Mod - North America
« on: May 11, 2018, 04:22:27 AM »
Noticed that Kymco wired the Super 8 Position Lamps into the headlamp area, but NA regs probably did not require them to be utilized then or even now.

Oddly, the factory did place lamps inside these lamp holders. They even ran wires needed to power them in the lamp-side bus and connector rig, but not any further past this connector.

So, being that I am a fan of lights... figured to wire them up and see how they look.

As most of you know... for the headlights:
Green wire is ground.
White wire is "switch" (pos) "low beam".
Blue wire is "switch" (pos) "high beam".

From the Position Lamps:
Green wire is ground.
Taupe wire is "switch" (pos).

Being that at that time... all I wanted was Position Lamps when low beam was switched, so cut and spliced taupe wire to white wire. At some point I will probably splice them into blue wire for both low and high beam service.

I have not done the Light Control Bypass/Mod... so illumination level is reduced in example image as a result of non-movement.
