People GT 300i / LED headlight bulb part number
« on: March 31, 2017, 11:36:22 PM »
A year or so ago I saw someone posted an LED headlight bulb PN.  If anyone has that please reply.

Thanks!

Thanks again Stig - I was able to replace the plug with your exploded parts view.
So, here's how I did it:
1. Remove the engine cover, under the seat (total 6 nuts, 2 phillips head screws)
2. Remove the seat (total 2 nuts)
3. remover the center cover that covers the engine.
4. As you're looking straight at the engine (from where the center cover was), the plug is on the right side.  The best way I can describe it is the plug is diagonally positioned into the engine.
**The plug itself does have the top terminal stud, that was removed.  So it has only the screw.

(Hope this helps future DIY-spark-plug-replacers)  ;)

Thanks Stig!!
I'll carefully play with it.  Just got the plug today - yay!  :)

Help us out here GT owners...
Is it just the 2 screws (green circle) and some clips holding that center panel in place?
Screws go in red marked area, otherwise it is just unslipping the tabs/clips?
And spark plug is accessed behind this panel?

Thanks for the replies.
So looks like I have to remove the body cover.  I have a handle on the "bucket seat" cover to the engine (6 bolts, 2 phillips screws), but haven't done the foot rest yet.
Any idea how long it would take to figure out how to take it off?   (I saw a post online for a doing the same thing on a People 150, and it took 1.5 hours of guessing)  :)

Purchased a CR7EIX plug and should be coming in any day now.
I just want to know the best way to get to the plug.  :)

TIA,

People GT 300i / Re: Front fork seals?
« on: August 16, 2016, 04:17:07 AM »
Thanks De Dee!
Got the parts ordered through the dealer I purchased the 300 from.  He actually had the dust seals on hand and just threw them in for free.

Thanks again!!

People GT 300i / Front fork seals?
« on: August 08, 2016, 08:15:10 PM »
My right front fork started leaking.  I already visited Kymcopartsmonster page but wasn't sure about the seal part number.
Can anyone confirm that I can actually just buy the seals.

Thanks!!

Cool.  Thx Stig.
I think I found it, it's the "CR7EIX".  : )

Thanks again!

Nice post about this scooter.
Might try NGK IRIDIUM spark plug to clean up unstable stop light idle.
Worked great on three scooters I've used them on.
Stig

Hi Stig - what is the specific model of the NGK Iridium for the People 300?
Thanks!

In full agreement: GTi continues to impress!
I owned mine going on 2 years in a couple of weeks.  I went to a party 35 miles from my house.  Went there using back roads, but on my way home I used one of the fastest & busiest freeways in the SF Bay Area (680).  My GTi sustained 80MPH!!!

« on: April 06, 2016, 05:03:06 PM »
To answer your question: We probably don't know if they are standard sizes. Might be good to order them with your other parts. Hate to have the bloodletting stalled for the want of a missing c-clip! (besides - c-clips can fire off to hidden spaces in a garage - you might bleed out before it's located by your helpers)

Cautions from an old medic (Stig)

Thanks De Dee.  I got most of these tools.  As for the Blue Loctite, upon applying it and tightening down the screws I know there is curing time for the loctite.  Question:  how do I test the new belt?  :)

(wanna keep the bleeding to a minimum)  ;)

 :D

Let us know how easy/hard it is to replace the drive belt, as that might be my next project.  :)

Yeah, these People 300GTi's are definitely "keeper" bikes.  : )

People GT 300i / Re: How fast & how hard do you ride your GT300i?
« on: April 14, 2015, 05:27:16 AM »
Can it sustain 75-80MPH on long freeway drives?  The reason I'm asking is I'm considering a job that is ~31 miles out and has a 1 mile hill (7-9% grade) in the middle of the commute.  That brings it to 62 miles daily.  Can the 300i take this daily commute?
