Xciting 700i / Re: X700 coming in Feb 2013

I think what Cortez meant is that the 700's engine is not the one in the BMWs. Not that kymco isn't making the BMW ones. It has been well established that the, I believe 638 CC engings in the BMWs are kymco. But the 700 is not that engine.

Xciting 500 / 2013 US Model question
« on: September 17, 2012, 10:56:53 PM »
Hey, I was wondering if anyone has seen the 2013 us model in person. I've seen different pics online and was wondering about the turn signals. In Europe they are LED signals in the same spot as the current xciting 500 just under the head lights at the tips of the faring. But several photos from magazine reviews in the US show them having mirror LEDs like the Downtown. If thats the case I wonder if there are even LED pannels in the fairing or just empty lenses. If there are LEDs there it would be great if both upper and lower worked.

Xciting 500 / Re: Differences Between 500R and 500 EVO?
« on: July 21, 2012, 12:18:15 AM »
Interesting, I hope this does not change Kymco Canada's plans. The Canadian rep told me that Canada would get the Xciting EVO and the MyRoad for 2013 with pricing to be announced sometime round October.
Now from the US it sounds like the EVO and the MyRoad might not show up until 2014 down south... I know we don't always get the same models, as shown by the People 300GT not being available in Canada only the 200, But it does seem a little odd that we would bring in the newer Xciting without it being in the US, and the MyRoad is a whole nother story being the mythical creature it is...

 Hmm...

Xciting 500 / Re: Will Kymco Import the 400i Into the US Market?
« on: July 20, 2012, 04:45:30 AM »
Don't know about the US but Kymco Canada has said no to the 400, but they did say 2013 we will have the newer 500 EVO like Europe, which is pretty close in looks to the 400. At least in the front end. I think the rear is pretty much the same as the old 500.
Can't wait to see one, might just be my next scoot... Currently headed for a 2013 toss up between the Burger 400, Xciting 500 or poss the MyRoad if it does show up...

Check out RAM Mounts. They have several option for GPS and Smart Phones, some mount to your break fluid reservoirs, others mount to bars or you can get screw on ones for mounting on the "dash". I use my iPhone as my GPS and have a Bluetooth helmet set (Senna SMH-10 ) to hear the commands, answer calls or listen to tunes.

« on: July 06, 2012, 02:01:58 PM »
Although we will definitely have to wait and see, they are on the road in Germany from what I can digest of German forums, and both Kymco USA and Kymco Canada have said they will be in country for 2013 model year. Kymco Canada said pricing and such should be announced round October. Don't know about the US dates, but typically they are before Canada.

Please be right, I'm looking to buy in early 2013 and the MyRoad is at or near the top of my current list, depending on final stats and pricing...

I replaced all the company badges and striping with reflective on mine, I thought it looked pretty cool... and I like to be seen as much as possible by cagers.

« on: June 12, 2012, 01:21:49 AM »
Kymco Canada said they had no official word yet on the 700i and that we would NOT be getting the 400 just the updated 500 for 2013.

One of these years we in the USA might get the re-designed Xcitings like the rest of the world gets now.  Completely re-designed windshield.

I was told by Kymco Canada that we will get the redesigned 500 for the 2013 model year.

I like both Shad and GIVI, for me it mostly comes down to design and "fit" of the look on a particular bike / scooter.
SHAD does have brake lights but theirs are on the rack not the case, so they sit just under the case. That said I would not look at the Givi or Shad brake lights as a buy or not buy issue. I thnk both are limited... The Givis have lot's of connection issues, ie they don't always make contact so no lights some times and both Givi and Shad are only break lights.

Personally I would buy the case you like and add an "Admore Lighting" kit to it. Their kits give you tail, break and turn signals.

Xciting 500 / Re: Rode In The Rain!
« on: May 28, 2012, 02:11:45 PM »
Other than constantly clearing the visor of water (BTW I find that Nikwax Visor Proof works great for water repelling visors) I find riding in severe wind way wors than rain. I've ridden, all be it carefully, in torential down pours... I ride year round and the only things which park me are snow and icey days.

Looks really good, I too look forward to the "how to" write up. That is even better than what I was thinking of doing.
