Picked up the new Yager!
« on: March 22, 2011, 07:30:14 PM »
The weather broke last week here in Chicago area, and I was finally able to pickup the Yager 200 I purchased last month.  I've put on about 160 miles on it so far (5 days) carefully varying the speed but also going up to 55-60 mph for very short periods of time.  This thing accelerates in traffic effortlessly and the speedometer as many have noted seems to be right on the money (GPS maybe 1 mph optimistic.)

Seems like a good purchase so far, I'll try to do a lengthier report in the future.  I do appreciate this site!

Looks like more bad weather here in Chicagoland.  I had wanted to rack up enough mileage to do a 1st service next week, but now it looks like it may take an additional week or so.

I've really enjoyed my 2004 Kymco Super 9 over the years but... being in the suburbs I need more than 45-48 mph to get around.  So my decision to get the Yager was mostly so I could legally go more places without fear of my life (on the 50cc scoot.)  And being somewhat of a 'thrifty guy' the Yager's reported 75-80 mpg is great esp with these gas prices.

The dealer also had $500 off list so I gave in!

For now, I'm holding onto the Super 9, it is total awesome ride in looks and performance.  It's just that it's limited to 45 mph limited roads and runs so good I would never 'mod' it.

And, I've got the motorcycles for the long 'road trips.'

I bought my Yager from a Honda-Kymco dealer in Lyons Illinois - Otto Brothers....a close-in suburb of Chicago.  It was marked down to $2,999.00  and was about $3,500-3,600 out the door.  He has 3 more currently on the floor.

This is a very old Honda dealer and is still in business and plans to stay open.  Due to the recession-depression they are down to 3-4 employees including the service dept.  So, it's somewhat of a funky experience buying there, but the service guy Glenn has been there for 25 years and can fix anything!
