Title: ? solved wet gloves - kudos for Oxford rain over-jacket!
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on March 03, 2022, 06:11:33 PM
I love my rain proof Oxford over-jacket - ultra lightweight , dry and very toasty (spring, winter & fall) !
While ordering another from revzilla ($35 & free ship!) I discovered that Oxford also makes a rain proof over-glove!
Oxford doesn't sell this over-glove in the States - but I found a similar item for $8 from motorcyclecloseouts.com.

I often ride in a very cold rain - which is not good for my leather battery heated gloves.
I've tried various waterproofing sprays and ointments on my leather (& textile) gloves- which always fail after a couple of hours in pouring rain. Tried water=proof snowmobile gauntlets - soaked thru in 30 mins!
Bar muffs don't work for me - my hands are off the grips too often - esp. in a driving rain or heavy fog. Tried 'em, tossed 'em.

Anyway - if these over-gloves work as well as does my Oxford jacket I will be all set for warm hands and dry gloves!

The Oxford over-jacket comes in a very bright hi viz (and black for those who prefer to get hit) and has nice reflective piping for my nightly rides. I like the high Nehru-collar tab -- keeps my neck sealed, warm and dry.

Nice looking rain jacket. That is something that I would consider when my current rain gear needs to be replaced.

Let us know how you do with the overgloves Stig. I’ve used them in the past (Rukka make) and they worked for me.

Aerostich over mitts work for me in rain---they also can add a bit of warmth in cold dry rides.
