Works like a charm doesn't it :)  I've got a friend that has one of those on both brake reservoirs and I think a different ram mount on one of the mirror posts too.

Yep- you get a variety of screw lengths- it looks like consistent thread pitches among the reservoir manufacturers (metric).  Super easy.

Get the flat slotted ram mounting plate with ball that attaches to the top of the brake reservoir.  You don't even take the top off the brake reservoir -just replace the screws with those furnished.

see this at amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/RAM-Mounts-RAM-B-346U-Motorcycle-Reservoir/dp/B003CMNXIO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1480620033&sr=8-3&keywords=ram+clutch+mounts

Anyone know what happened to or where Vivo is?  I haven't seen a post from or about him in a long time.

On mine you gotta hold that button down for about 5 seconds or so then the display goes to zero otherwise it shows how many miles since last time it was reset.

Wayne:

The Ram-mount for the Reservoir goes over your existing cover.  You get replacement screws and a set of bushing shims that hold the ram-mount plate just above the original  reservoir cover.  You don't take off or open the existing reservoir.

I've been very pleased with the system.  I use a droid phone for gps and communication (Uclear helmet Bluetooth).  The phone doesn't vibrate much (done about 3K miles with the mounts since December '15) and I've never had to tighten any of the system up since initial install (I've checked for tightness but nothings loosened).

No those aren't heated grips- just some "Grab On Grips Grip Cover - Fits From 1.25in. to 1.45in. OD - 5in.L, Color: Black MC402" through Amazon to increase the grip diameter some.

A friend has the system on both brake reservoirs and uses one for her gps/phone and has the ram drink hanger for coffee/water/etc. on the other side.

On my 500, I used ram-mounts that attach to the top of the brake reservoir - from amazon.(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CMNXIO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

then: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q02X8H4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (a socket arm with lock)

then:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KO5XVU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and finally:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088LL7UA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ( spring loaded cell phone/gps holder that you can remove the phone/gps using one hand instead of the X-mounts that require you to use both hands)
  Here is a photo link:

I have installed a 12V accessory plug on the dash to power my phone/gps.  Amazon has a large selection of ram mounts.

My 2013 Xciting manual says it has linked brakes too but when on the center stand and spinning both wheels on my scooter and pressing the left (rear) brake lever only the rear wheel stops.

I'm beginning to think that the "linked" brakes could only be when the ABS is activated during a hard or panic stop.  Just a thought- I haven't wanted to test it that bad.

Is it showing high temp via the gauge or light or is it just pushing out coolant from the overflow tank after riding a while?  Usually the level in the overflow tank will not change at idle but can fill up if you have been riding a while and especially if it is hot outside.  Once the scooter is off and cooled off for a while, the coolant level in the overflow tank will go back down to the cold mark or so.

From what I have read from your post and the symptoms, it looks like there is just too much coolant in the overflow tank unless I misread something.  I can't remember from my Grand Vista if there is a cold and hot marking on the reservoir tank.   Coolant level when cold shouldn't be above the cold mark otherwise it "could" spew out the excess coolant once the engine gets above idle speeds and especially at higher speeds.

Xciting 700i / Re: Discontinued in US?

MJR - I figured out that my computer using Microsoft Edge was "caching"  older pages showing the 700 and other models as current.  I looked at the kymocusa.com website on my phone last night and immediately saw what you were talking about.   A restart of my desktop computer corrected the caching.

Sorry about me trying to correct your statement about the 700 being discontinued.  You were stating exactly what the website is now showing.

Guess you are getting a different page loading than what I get.  The link I posted takes me right to the current models which has the 700 as well as the "New" 50th anniversary version of the "Like 200i".

The 700 shows as current model on their showroom pages. At least as of 3:37pm, 11/5/15 and is still in their on-road brochure.    Here's a link:  http://kymcousa.com/showroom/index_onroad.html

Can't help with the initial removal of Tupperware but when you reassemble the pieces put a dab of white lithium grease on the tabs and their sockets.  It will make assembly easier and future disassembly easier too.  It does not seem to really loosen the tabs when they are totally engaged but as soon as they are moved just a little they come apart easily.

Venox 250 / Re: Newbie Q: Is a 2007 Venox a 9-volt system?
« on: August 23, 2014, 01:22:29 AM »
It's a 12v system- and jumping it off from a running vehicle (alternator puts out almost 14v) can damage electronics on the venox or scooter-they don't have the same type of charging system and to put it simply- something's likely to burn up.

Jumping with just the 12v car battery (car not running) is fine-its just a larger capacity (not voltage) battery than what your mc or scooter has.
