Anyone had this problem? VERY often, when I pull to a stop or slow and use my brake and/or blinker, my headlight goes out. I have to turn the scooter completely off and restart it. It really stinks when this happens at night in the middle of a turn!!
I tried to explain this to the scooter repair people and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and what part I need to replace?
I have a 2009 People 200s

I had a similar thing on my P150. I looked up under the front cowling and found that the connection to the lights wasn't connected tightly and kept wiggling free, just enough to cause the trouble. I reached up and firmly snapped the connector together and the problem went away. I hope your problem is that easy and not some weird electrical thing. It's worth a try, anyway.

The s200 has a light dimming module, that for battery saving dims the lights at idle. Sounds like you module is bad. You can bypass fit by jumping two wires, don't remember what color I've only done it once. If you want to just replace the module I think I have a few in stock.

Thank you both so much for your replies! VERY helpful. I will definitely check the wires first and see what I can figure out. It would love to be able to bypass that module. If not, I am going to have to replace it.
Again, thank you both so much for your help!!!

I wonder if you have a problem at all.... The scooter will dim the headlights when the engine is at slow idle as a normal operations process. Pay attention to the idle sped when it happens.

Great to know, I was wondering why that was happening. I was going to up idle a little but i'm glad I didn't

JaWolf, yeah, I definitely have a problem. The light goes completely OUT and stays out until I restart the bike.

kaktuschick, any updates on your headlight issue?
-
The headlight controllers are failure prone. Search the forum for "headlight controller" for more on this.

I never did figure this problem out. Ended up junking the whole scooter due to engine issues.

I certainly hope you sold it for parts as opposed to sending it off to the recycling station.
