450i Mxu Feedback
« on: April 13, 2020, 10:43:52 PM »
Well guys I am thinking about picking up a 450i mxu.  I think it offers a lot of options and a great price point.  Having a diff lock is huge in my opinion.  I would just like to hear how you guys like them.  How is the downhill engine braking?

Mine is a 2014 I bought leftover in 2015. Mine doesn't have differential lock on the front end. On the other hand the limited slip on the front end of mine provides really good traction. We bought a 2010 Yamaha Grizzly 450 first. I wanted a more powerful machine with the same frame width. The Kymco 450 checks all the boxes. Considerably more power than the Grizzly. Ride is similar but way better brakes on the Kymco also. Only problems I have had are the speedometer has become intermittent at working. Sometimes when hot it wants to be finicky about finding reverse, always has found it though. Used for recreational riding, occasionally pulling a large lawn roller and 50" lawn sweeper. About all I can say with 5 years of ownership. I have no regrets!!

superrman77 did you end up buying a 450i? I bought a 2020 in May of this year and I've been pretty happy with it. I did have to do some adjusting in the shift linkage but I'm pretty sure that's because the dealership that I purchased it from was in a rush.

I adjusted on mine some too. Made a lot better shifting but still occasionally, not often requires a mild rock and slips right into reverse. My daughter and I just got back from Hatfield McCoy trail system. We put about 130 miles on the Kymco and Grizzly with zero issues. Some of the trails were very steep.

I still haven't pulled the trigger yet.  Good to hear you guys are having fun on your machines.
