Kymco Yager Clutch ‘slipping’ feeling at higher speeds
« on: June 07, 2022, 04:07:05 AM »
When i approach 45+ mph i get a slipping sensation, which i assume is a clutch issue?

A couple notes:
1) The engine revs don’t change when it happens.
2) I’ve deglazed my clutch and cleaned the bell, which has fixed some low speed slipping. This issue is high speed slipping.
3) I’ve replaced the belt.

Any thoughts on what this could be?

Does the clutch assembly need replacing?

@jtown, you said that you changed the belt. (OEM  or aftermarket) even its stated to fit for this model, sometimes belts vary in lenght and widh.

Your CVT and clutch ramps might be to smooth. Check this too.
Check your CVT and clutch nuts, really tighened?
Use new nuts every time, if not, use a few drops of thread blocker on them.
Torque CVT M12x1.25 90nm
Clutch 70-80nm
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus
