Yet more questions
« on: May 14, 2011, 01:29:57 AM »
 hi again
done the work to my scoot and all is well apart from a couple of niggles.
the scoot is fine upto 45-nearly 50 but if i get hit by wind or if i go up any kind of incline it will bog-down and drop to 40mph or below. dont know if this is a issue with the cluth spring or the torque spring or it might be a case of up-jetting the carb.
i know the people on here have a lot more experience than me and i hope you can help me out again.
thanks in advance

Welcome to the world of 50cc scooters ;D
My scoot is exactly the same, im happy if I get 40mph uphill. Think thats just what happens, either lose loads of weight, fit a bigger engine or put up with it I think.

Im eventually going to change my clutch and contra springs to 1000rpm ones and go to 4.5g rollers but from what I read so far it may not make too much improvement and could be were stuck going slow uphill and in wind. Im used to it now and just keep my revs up approaching hills to try keep the speed up, works sometimes if not too steep.

I don't understand what you guys complain about, My 09 Agility has a hard time making 40mph on the flat and hills are @ 20 mph. I have a derestricted boss, cut cdi,5.5 gr rollers and an NGK iridium plug. Am I doing something wrong or did I miss something? I would be pleased as punch to be able to get 30mph on hills.

Fit a race variator dale, £50-£60 for a malossi kit or £18 off ebay for a gy6 clone race variator from taipai scooter assassins. I got the £18 one and was very happy with it. Top speed went from around 70 kmh to 80kmh wih that and has better, smoother acceleration too.

yea i have a race CDI and a race variator with a 1000rpm torque spring, just been looking at sum clutch springs and drive gears. might need to upjet aswell and start running high octane fuel. the parts i was looking at are on scooter assassins. one part was a race torque driver and a set of three clutch springs (1000rpm-1500rpm and 2000rpm) maybe these parts might aleaviate the problems abit.

think about it. its a 50 thats the best you can do. 30 to 40 up hill is a good thing 45 to 50 on flat is also a good thing.if you want faster get a bigger scoot all around. other wise deal with the cash flow you have to put in to it and the pain of all the broken parts later.
