"I went to key west and swung by moped hospital looking for a pipe and carb but they said theres been a change in ownership and they're not really into the performance parts business. or something like that."

Translation:

We dont want to deal with modded scooters cause people may sue us for making their bikes illegal. Im sensing that.

Dont forget Bettin my still have the old carbs and intakes that he says will add maybe 5 MPH to the bike. Id like someone to get one and confirm that.

Hows you BBK doing ?

hi Chris, ,my bbk is doing great.  I'm maxing out at 42mph as well, but the acceleration there is very good (it even leaps) and with a new pipe and carb, I'm looking to make it great.

hows your scoot?  going to do any upgrades this season?

I'm going to go with the noraku traffic pipe, could send me link me to a carb for the 2T?

thank you!

My scooter is in the basement right now. Easier than expected getting it down but wondering how easy is it to get it back up. Waiting for a couple of feet of snow to melt first.

I would like to do a supplemental headlight mod.

I would love to do a carb mod that would increase MPH by 5, not sure what to buy and how to jet it. I dont want to throw money into something that wont make a difference. I would like sound confirmation or a guarantee before spending $165.

Im glad to hear your BBK is doing well as now your coiled up and ready to fly with the right carb and pipe mod. Sounds to me the BBK was done well.

Still wondering if the clutch is really restricted with that bead of weld. There really has been no confirmation on it. I can grind it off but what is the sense of doing so if its not really a restriction. Best to leave it alone until its confirmed also and that grinding it off wont hurt anything.

When I here stories of people having issues with clanging pulleys, scoots that wont start, and shredded belts after doing what is supposed to be quality high performance upgrades, Im hesitant to spend money on a new variator, clutch, or carb. May as well accept 42 MPH as its 10 more than this bike is stock although 45-50 MPH would be sweet.

I put about 4000 miles on the bike in the 6 months I road it and that's about 3500 more than I expected. And all made possible by Bettin, Zombie, and Josh who are pretty much it for the entire planet for mod assistance with this bike. Imagine 3 people out of 7 billion people has made my Super8 experience fairly decent and a big improvement over stock.

It really does surprise me how little info there is. Compare the info to the number of guys that mod these things, and it makes me shake my head...

Ive been looking around for a carb at spi parts and other places and it seems they cost from 160$-200$, is that right? which size should I get 19mm or 21mm?

After doing some reading, I would guess as Im not an expert.

1) 19 mm carb if you buy and exhaust w/o expansion chamber.

2) 21 mm carb if you get an exhaust with expansion chamber.

Make sure to get matching manifolds or adapters.

Then you'll have to decide on what to do with the air side if you need an open air filter or mods to the airbox.

Here is a 19mm but note the bottom paragraph about matching the right carb to your bike. http://www.provoscooter.com/arreche-19mm-carburetor-kymco.html
