20x12, 14g each is what most are using.

I was about to order 13gr, but then got a different variator instead.
You'd get more revs everywhere with those but it'll still work well.

What concerns me is that you maybe got 8 weights 10.5gr each, which is about the same as 6 weights
14gr each.. that would explain why your scales don't say 14gr. If that's the case, return them.

I haven't heard of a 8 weight People either.

If they're 20x12mm, they'll work what ever the weight is, but if they're just 10.5 grams each, you'll have
the engine bouncing off the limiter.
Thanks for the reply. I'll take the sliders to the Post Office tomorrow and get a accurate weight on them. If they are 14g, I'm all set. If not I'll contact Mike at Buggyparts and get them exchanged.

I being a landscape designer am not right in the head but was told by my dealer that the GT300i takes 8 rollers so Mike you are in business. I am going to try 15g. sliders after the thread with the Downtown guys started talking how the newer variator in the Dowtown and the GT are the same and there is debate about 14g plus or minus. The stock rollers are 15.4 g so sliders due to their shape usually work better a bit lighter. I considered 14g but was worried she might get too busy at interstate speeds. I will know soon as I hope to change them out this weekend. I can only imagine the condition the originals look like at 14K :o

the 300i gt has 8 wt.s    20/12  14 gr. X 8 ,. I picked up a scale at harbor freight for 11.65 that goes down to .i grams , a lot of scales just have one gr.,   and it works perfect for weighing sliders or rollers.

Well I stand corrected, I knew the People and newer DT had a new variator, but no idea it was with
8 weights.

Actually, the sliders most noticeable difference is at speeds at around 60mph and more where the shape
comes into play and lowers the revs. You go for lighter then stock with them not because of their shape,
but for the same reason you'd get lighter normal rollers - to raise the revs at full throttle and at lower
speeds for better response and acceleration.

Even with 14gr sliders in my DT, I got 500 revs less at 60mph and above, so there's no chance of it getting "busy"
at interstate speeds, you'd get lower revs probably with 13gr too.

With 15 compared to 15.5, the difference in acceleration won't be that big, and you might loose a bit
of top speed. Mine dropped by about 3mph with 14gr weights since the bike couldn't rev out past
7500 any more. Then another 3mph for the big windscreen and another 3mph for the topcase.

Now it's as fast as some 250s..  :(

Thanks for the info. Please let me know how she runs with the new sliders. I'm installing a Biondi windshield and a new removeable Shad topcase before I do my sliders. I probably won't get to ride the scoot before April because of the weather. I appreciate any additional input before I install the sliders.

Good news! My scale was off and my sliders are 14's. Will be installing them after break-in.

Mike, finally got around to putting in sliders today. Due to the beautiful weather 30's and wet snow I only did a very brief ride. 14g should be good :). The 15's I put in will be ok for my type of riding which includes a lot of 50-60mph. The amazing thing was the original rollers at 14.5k were still almost perfect. The set up on the kymco is much easier to work on compared to my old BV250. The air filter is locked up tighter than Fort Knox and there is a silly push pin by the passenger foot rest but other than that very straight forward.
