Hi guys, I need a recommendation for a quality all weather cover to go over my GT300i and keep it dry and clean. I've tried several covers including Oxgord, Budge (the one Walmart carries for $45),etc. The Oxgord shredded in 8 months. The others were merely water-repellent and not waterproof. I'm in Tampa Bay, so rainy season is beginning soon and my shredded Oxgord covered in duct tape is simply not going to cut it. I'm looking for a cover that's effectively waterproof and going to last a couple of years. Also needs grommets for tie-down. Breathable pouches nice too. Heat resistant panels nice too. Thanks for recommendations.

I've got a GT300i with Pirellis front and rear. Does anyone know the typical tire deflation rate through osmosis when the tire does not have a hole or defect? I ride my bike several times per week at a minimum. I check the tire pressure monthly or more often and have noticed that it drops several PSI. I air both front and rear to 34 PSI. Thanks guys.

I inspected my coolant levels today. Nothing in the reserve reservoir. No coolant visible when removing the radiator cap. Could there be a leak? Or did the Kymco dealership simply overlook the coolant in their inspection they did a few months ago? Anyway...I'd like to replace the coolant and then monitor the levels for leaks.

Has anyone on the forum replaced their GT300i coolant? What is the capacity of the system? How much coolant do you need when replacing? Tips on flushing the system? Tips on bleeding air from the system? The service manual seems to provide a fairly detailed description, but I want to make sure I don't miss anything. I'd like to get it right the first time.

I read on the forum that Pro Honda HP coolant is a good choice. There's a Honda bike dealer up the road selling it for $31.80/gal.

Thanks guys.

People GT 300i / Cleaning the exterior of the engine
« on: June 03, 2016, 09:43:57 PM »
What's the best way to clean oil deposits, grit and dirt that has built up on the exterior of the engine? When I took the seat bucket off my 2012 GT300i, I could see oily grit built up in places. Do I use low-pressure spray at a car wash? Brake cleaner/degreaser in a spray can? What's the best way to do this without damaging any systems? Thanks.

I've got a starter issue on my People GT300i. Unfortunately it's intermittent happening about 10% of attempted starts, so hard to isolate and pinpoint the issue. The Kymco dealer recommended a new starter relay, so rather than being stranded somewhere and calling AAA for a tow, I'm going to buy the $40 new part. I want to install it myself to save $30 and because I like working on the bike.

Having done extensive work on a Chinese bike, I thought I'd be up to the job. But the Kymco service manuals suck. I have both the printed one from Cyclepedia and a PDF from kymcousa.com. They're about the same. Lacking, vague and sometimes useless.

The starter relay is located on the right side of the bike just below the front of the seat. To access it I have to remove the body panels. I got these items off: trunk, rear carrier rack, seat bucket, seat and rear access panel above the brake light assembly. The videos are posted on youtube: , etc.

Then when I got to the body panels, I got stuck. I couldn't get the rear splash guard off, and that's where I stopped filming.

Is there anyone who has done this and who can walk me through step-by-step on how to remove the body panels so I can access the starter relay? Thanks in advance for your help. I searched this forum and also youtube for answers, but found nothing specific to the GT300i.
