Technical | How To / Str8 Pipe, Anyone?

Two questions:
1.) Anyone ever thought about having a muffler/custom shop make them a straight pipe for their scoot?
2.) Why I ask: My P250's exhaust has a big enough leak now to sound TOTALLY AWESOME. Think Buddy Blackjack + Prima pipe on testicle-shrinking, bodybuilding steriods. ;) That sucker has some bass notes you wouldn't believe. However, I am concerned about screwing up my exhaust valve by not immediately addressing this (payday is next Friday, ugh). How concerned should I be about damaging the valve?

With the 30-mile commute, I've become somewhat frustrated with the three school zones, multiple rolling stop signs (school buses), aggressive tailgaters in Antioch (Nashville airport area) and other annoyances, so! I have started to break my rule about in-town interstate riding.
I'm going against the flow of heavy traffic, as most commuters are trying to enter Nashville in the early morning instead of vice-versa, so I'm somewhat enjoying the high-speed terrors of I-440 and I-24, now. That makes my commute about six miles of surface roads, and 24+ of interstate.
One thang: At 70MPH+, I find that my pant legs flap around enough to whack a nerve in the back of my calf, causing the sensation of repeated, low-voltage electric shocks. Anyone else familiar with that (and can a reflexologist explain or mitigate that)?

I haven't shared the news here, as I've been less active here, lately, but... I GOT A JOB! Yay, me! The 45-month unplanned retirement is OVER, at last.
I'm testing backflow prevention units for a company contracted by the city of La Vergne, TN, now. One place I went into this week was Haynes Manuals, and look what I saw while I was there to do the test. Heh.

Okay, we're just a few more weeks away from the 1st 2012 Blue vs. Grey scooter rally in lovely Nashville, Tennessee (June 1-3, 2012), and we'd like to invite y'all to come down and enjoy some southern hospitality, historically-interesting battlefield scooter rides, a swap meet, raffles for some nifty stuff, food, beverages and loads of fun!
Pre-registration closes this Friday, 5/4/2012. In order to be guaranteed a t-shirt, we need folks to pre-register, and I can tell you right now, I may be the only blue shirt amongst scores of grey shirts. So c'mon, yankees! Unseasonably warm weather in Nashville has made for itchy riders. Yesterday, three of us rode to Franklin, and last weekend on New Year's Eve, I led seven others on my favorite ride.
Today, a Natchez Trace ride!

Courtesy of Yours Truly. I think I have found the perfect 2-hour ride for our gang. It is glorious. And on an unseasonably warm Saturday after Thanksgiving (71F), I had to do it.

... well, it was a pitch for a reality show that isn't going to be produced. There may still be a show, but it won't be focused on the shop, per se, but on something else (all those who were pitched really liked Josephine, for some reason... I'm sure that I, the "sweet geek" was not ready for TV!). But the production company has 3 of the 5 clips on YouTube now, and so I present: Scooter Queen! Enjoy.
