seat latch not engaging -FIXED

Hi ,  I can't get the seat latch to lock the seat down.   Any suggestions? I bought this zx a few weeks ago, it is clean, very low miles and the only problem with it is that I can't lock the seat/storage bin.

Lift the seat and try working some oil into the latch mechanism whilst turning the key on the side panel. Check the condition of the latch pin too on the underside of the seat

I have oiled the latch, still doesn't work, please see photos...is there anything like a cable connecting the key lock to the latch? Thanks in advance

By taking off the seat and repositioning things slightly, the seat now latches closed.  It wasn't going down far enough into the latch for the seat 'bar' to engage. Thanks for your help
