Thanks guys,

Yeah a little skeptical about the belt for sure. It's amazing how the price is through the roof with the OEM belts.

Had this issue on a scoot laying up for a while. Mechanic told me to change the battery. That system like voltage voltage voltage! Worked great after.

@Faber, since BANDO rollers are inexpensive, just have a try with even 15 grams (gives you a calm middle speed with low revs). Order several weights and put it in, then test ride. Mixed (i.g. 3x12 and 3x15 grams) is possible too. All depends on your personal likings.

The 125cc has large rollers. 15g are wayy too big for this scoot. Wouldn't have enough horsepower or torque to take off.

I've had the GTI 125cc in the past. The roller weight is very sensitive. 10g is too light and 11 too heavy. 10.5 is the sweet spot for that scoot.

@Congrats, You found the well of eternal scooter youth.

Thanks very much guys. All sorted and working fine. Quick swap over and now my scoot is half as young as she was with 27k on the ODO. LOL.

I managed to find a spare speedo among my parts in the garage. I wonder if I swap out the actual push buttons and lens, would this work? Does the actual problem lie within the circuit board and not the buttons?

Yes. New one starts at zero.
I will bet the lttle pushbuttons or one of them is not working. You may be able to find which one by operating them individually if you have not already. Both doing what they are supposed to may indicate your oil pressure switch is faulty.

The ADJ seems to be working. The MODE button not working. I'm lost....., what does this have to do with oil pressure?

Not that I know of. You holding both down completely for an eternity?

Hi Karl. Yeah holding them down for like an entire minute and nothing happens.
If I purchase a new speedo, do I lose all of my ODO history?

Hello guys, I'm having trouble resetting the oil change light. Ususally I will press the ADJ button twice until I see the 5000k on the odometer then I will press the ADJ and MODE button together. I guess it's she's had her years of service on those buttons and they don't want to work anymore. Is there any other way that I can reset this function?

The wire didn't melt completely, but I'm sure that the hot exhaust header would have caused some interference somehow.

Negative lead ran directly from the battery to the engine casing to be grounded. The last mechanic must have done this without zip ties to run the cable neatly. Ground wire touched the exhaust header and melted away. I saw another GTI and decided to check out the wiring, and the ground wire ran from battery-frame (next to the coil) and then to the engine casing. So this means that it wasn't properly grounded which explains the electrical issues and decline in performance.

Thanks to all. Scoot running fantastic. Feels good to be back on the road. Ground wire was running from negative straight to engine casing ground. Thanks again to all you guys for the input and help. You are a great bunch of guys.
