General Discussion / Re: Not looking to start a riot
« on: May 28, 2012, 10:27:20 PM »
I clicked on this thread and laughed when I read the topic. I am 27 and my wife and I just got in an arguement with my dad over the same topic a day or two ago. Who the hell cares!
My dad says something is wrong with them and uses the bible to argue it.
I told him it also says in the bible not to judge others.and also told him that straight people give birth to homosexuals so something must be wrong with the straight people too. Needless to say he went silent then got angry cause he couldn't argue it.

I have a 2009 S8, well it's my wife's and mine is a grandvista 250. Me and the wife just did 130 miles today and the temps were 92 degrees. She ran great all day. I run 50 weight oil thru the summer for the higher temps. You will find that taking breaks are nice. We go about 20-30 miles at a time. The seat design could be improved on to help out.

I bought my super 8 used for the wife to learn on with 4500 miles on it. I changed all the fluids when I got it and put full synthetic in the oil and gear lube, new air filter and spark plug and she runs like a dream. Maintenance is simple and cheap, which is y we invested in scooters instead if motorcycles. As long as u keep up with the maintenance you'll have now problems. Oil changes are key especially since there is no oil filter.

Also it only cost us $10 in fuel for 2 scoots on 130 miles!

« on: April 16, 2012, 12:48:17 AM »
like cortez said, you'll get a hundred different answers on this.

I personally put vavoline 10-40 motorcycle oil in mine. i only have 275 miles on it so i only use regular non syn oil right now.

my super 8 150 has 4,800 miles on it and i run mobile1 syn 10-40 in it.

the only reason i use these is because they are the same brands i run in my cars and its what autozone has one the shelf when i go and buy my oils.
the velocities all depend on the temps your driving in.

10-40 is good in temps from 20 degrees to 100 plus degrees

Yea, unless there is a specific brand name thing that I am just trying to see if I can get a good price I don't use eBay to much. Lots of cheap products are on there and a lot of sellers with to high o f prices.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm just gonna buy the wife a new set in a week or two. Got some maintenance to catch up on with the cars first.

Take the back cover off the mirror if you can and inside there should be a screw or nut to tighten where it joins the stem. Tighten that up a bit and it should be fine.
this is the back of my mirror

Most all scoots are 8mm threads. All kymcos are 8mm
Cool. Thanks

..they probly have "compression" fittings that can be tightened with a wrench....

Down where it connects to the scoot it does but that's not where it's moving at.  The mirror itself slowly droops down and there is no adjustment to tighten it.

How do you know if you have 8mm or 10mm mirrors. Need to get new ones for the wife cause the left one keeps moving on its own.

It's for  a 09 super8 150

I F'N LOOOOOVEE that scoot.....

me too. the first thing that had to go though were all the darn stickers. i cannot stand stickers or a crap load of emblems.
then i took the balky extra rear fender off
cut off the reflectors on the rear turn signals too to clean it up a bit
and took off the small pointless front "windshield" . mainly cause the wife put it in a ditch on our first outing and cracked it. looks better without though i think
