Talked to my son about riding in sneakers
« on: May 08, 2018, 12:46:57 AM »
He wears his armored riding jeans, armored gloves & bright armored jacket, bright helmet with plenty of reflective stuff..
He has a hi viz yellow leather ICON jacket for cooler days.

Then he puts on his sneakers.

We had a chat. I suggested that his sneakers might be the first thing to depart his person in an off.

He's been wearing boots lately.

This evening....on his old R6.

Just another safety caution - back packs.  I notice a lot of bike riders wearing them but if they come off and there are hard items inside they could do some damage to their back.  Tail bags might be safer. https://www.peterstevens.com.au/bike-accessories/bags-luggage/tail-bag/ogio-motorcycle-tail-bag.html

Ogio has some nice backpacks too. I think they're designed to reduce snagging.

Personally I prefer bungee net over pillion seat. Great for milk jugs too.

Not sure if it's the angle in the photo, but it looks like your son could do up his backpack straps a little more so it's snug against his back. I used to carry hefty loads on my back to school, and I have no idea how people survive with the slouchy bag look. Probably took a while before I could stand straight again. People noticed I've gotten taller over the years, but that's only because I stand up straighter.

This post reminded me to adjust my backpack. A job well done!

Nothing in his pack but his work clothes.....extra padding.
Yeah, I  know.
And some guys won't carry a cell phone on their person while riding. Me, I want it real dam handy in my upper jacket pocket....if I  have an off. Plus it could deflect a small sniper round.
