when you have the seat done , use rebond foam 10 Lb. the guy who did mine used regular foam , and I had do it over ,  my self.  I used 4 " foam and cut it ( slant it back 1 "so it would be more comfortable, and made it wider for my wide ass,  my seat is level from front to back,  so I got long legs,  my feet are still flat on the ground, and the butt stop is moved back about 5 " that will go by your own size,.  the rear dome for your helmet is cut out of the seat to make it flat and left open so when I close the seat, the helmet pushes up the foam a little and closes the seat,    do you think the BS off of the hill in Ottawa will melt the snow, looking forward to riding again,.  not the snow blower on the tractor,

Yes I was wondering how you moved that butt stop 5 inches back without getting into that dome, so am I correct in understanding that you cut that dome out, leaving an open hole, covered it in the 10lb rebond foam 4" thick then put the vinyl cover back over it and you put a helmet under the seat to provide support for that open spot created by the removal of the dome?

BTW~ I`m in Michigan about midway up the state, so thats south of ottawa but yes I hope for a regular spring-snow-melt and be out riding again soon :)

when I am riding the helmet is on my head, the rebond foam is good for the hole,  does not sag, cant feel it even with 225 Lb. ( me ) on it

Dropped it off today with a plan to take about half the dome out and use the 10lb rebond foam to move that but stop back a good 5 inches.
He`ll call me next week so I can pick it up and try out the new foam job on the scoot before putting the cover on, make any necessary adjustments to it then we`ve designed a really cool new cover, it`ll be black and orange with boxes sewn in using black stitching.
I cant wait!

I had also a back surgery and then i found this...It does not matter which seat. The company always does individually: http://www.motorcycleparts-hornig.com/BMW-R-1200-GS-Adv-and-HP2/Seats-Trunks-and-Bags/Change-one-piece-seat.html

there is an imported version of the seat that I just purchased... ask your dealer if he has any but the difference is huge!! Im not adjusting myself every five minutes anymore. its higher and the front end has more of a bump... well worth the money. im 5'8 and felt very uncomfortable, I cant image anyone taller feeling comfortable at all with the domestic seat. the seat was the only flaw in my eyes.. now its perfect... get the seat guys!!!
