Major Loss of Power
« on: October 21, 2010, 04:52:42 PM »
Since I put this new air filter in, I noticed a few times when setting off from traffic lights and round abouts I was loosing power. E.G. Instead of setting off full throttle and getting to about 15 mph in seconds its taking ages to get to 10 mph then it starts to pick up properly. It only seems to do this once its warmed up or been on a long flat out drive from cold. So last night I put the original Air Filter back in and I thought it had cured the problem, but just at the last set of traffic lights on my way home it did it again! Any ideas?

Since I put this new air filter in

..did you increase your carburetor's main jet diameter when you installed the new filter??
..every mod (action) necessitates a (reaction) mod..

No, as I was told to go for a 'long drive' it was only in for a few days :)

So theres a LARGE chance it has sommet to do with that, but it didnt do it straight away AND it only seems to start doing it when its warm?

Maybe you dropped something in the intake when you were changing the filter?
Check all the tubes, cables and wires around the filter housing in case you knocked something off.

Got to upjet, because when your scoot isn't warm= going on choke. Choke= more fuel out of idling jet. When your scoot is warm the choke goes off. :)
