Idle went nuts...
« on: July 31, 2013, 07:21:37 PM »
Today, at about 4500 miles the idle went wonky, surging to 2500 rpm. First time near new would not idle properly so I did the TPS/ISC initialize outlined in the service manual and it has been OK until today. So I initialized again and now all is well. I have no idea why it gets out of whack but the initialize seems to fix it. Initialize, so you don't have to look it up: Bike on centerstand, key off, run/stop in run position. Throttle wide open, key on for 8 seconds, close throttle, key off. Start and let idle. Redo if not satisfied. Idle should be quite steady 1600-1800 rpm. Had to do it twice for it to work.

Everything still fine, just had a thought: EFI computer must have Microsoft software. You know, the "Bill Gates Fix: turn off, turn on, repeat if it does not work."
