If I were to buy another scooter,that would be the one. I still like my Downtown 300 and I recently bought a Honda CTX700 with a dual clutch transmission. It looks like a motorcycle but it’s easier to ride than the DT. The power and handling are awesome

I have a full face helmet, that I mainly use all the time. I also have a modular helmet, sometimes it’s just too hot for the full face. The modular is the best of both worlds

I'm pretty sure that all the U.S models are C.A.R.B approved. It's the cheaper Chinese models, that you have to worry about

Wow, $100 for a filter and oil!!!! When I change the oil and filter, on my DT300, it costs about $25-$30. Everything else is about the same.

I got caught in the rain, on my ride home from work yesterday, wasn't bad at all, until I had to ride over those "Right or Left" turn only tape or decals, or whatever they are made of. Very slippery when wet. Back tire slid out a bit. A little scary.

From late spring to late fall, it is my daily commuter, unless raining. I don't ride in the rain, and early weekends, before the wife and kids show signs of life.

Yep, what Snorvey said. There's like 6 bolts/nuts. Seat does have to come off also. Don't forget to unplug that light!!!

Ivor, I myself,keep my DT300, in a garage. So, a solar charger would not be a viable option for me,personally. It's really not a big deal, to hook up battery tender pigtails. You will have to remove the seat tub and pick out a good location, to access the plug.
I know BMW, uses 12v port for charging the batteries on some of their models, I have never used one myself.
I just plug in the battery tender jr. and I have never had a problem.

Kneeslider, now is the time to have the battery tender pig tails installed, if you didn't have any already. Keep that puppy plugged in. Glad to hear that it wasn't anything serious.
