For sale a 2014 Kymco MYROAD 700i maxi scooter. It is in excellent condition; has never been dropped. It has a 59HP, 699cc fuel injected parallel twin engine, excellent triple disc brakes with ABS, adjustable electronic suspension dampening, dual quartz halogen head lights, LED turn and brake lights, and many other features. It has a little less than 6800 miles on it, but is being ridden, so it may have slightly more miles when sold. I have added a Givi rear monokey trunk mount.  I have purchased Kymco's 48 month extended warranty for the scooter, so it has much warranty left.

Included in the sale is a set of Michelin SC Pilot tires. The original tires are about 80% gone.

Also included are the following maintenance items: clutch assembly. clutch bell, drive belt, set of roller weights, set of ramp plate sliders, set of throttle cables, air filter, 2 oil filters, and misc replacement fasteners. All items are genuine Kymco replacement parts.

These items retail for more than $850.   

Installed a Givi V46 trunk with backrest for wife on Monday. Givi didn't have a mount in the US for it. So, I modified the one I had previously mounted on my Xciting 500i. I think it looks better on the MYROAD. It looked large on the 500i and hung over the rear end.

The wife went riding with me on Sat. for the first time. It was a perfect day to ride in the mountains of Western North Carolina. There was a clear sky and the temps were in the 70's. We gassed up and headed out.

My wife is a very petite gal, so she doesn't affect the handling of a bike too much. The MYROAD did very well. It could accelerate up the steepest grade easily. It rode very well and was very stable in the corners. The brakes were very good even riding two up. I gassed up when we got home and calculated the mpg's; 52.2 mpg.

I had 622 miles on it when I got home. So I did the 1st service on it. Took about an hour. Everything was easy to get to and the job went smoothly. Future services will be much more time consuming. They will require an air filter change. That will require removing the GIVI mount, luggage rack, seat, center compartment, and tail/side cover.

The wife and I rode again today for most of the day. Very nice day again today; clear and cool. Averaged 53.8 mpg today.

Didn't find anything further today that I didn't like about it.



 

I have the 2013 Xciting 500ri. What made you want to go to the 700? What is your comparison of the two?


Previous to the 500i I owned a Suzuki Burgman 650 for two years. I enjoyed the 500i, but felt it was sluggish when I put the wife on the back.

The dealer allowed me to take home his demo 700i labor day weekend and I rode it for over 300 miles. I found it not only to be much more powerful than the 500i, but it rode and handled much better as well.

I have only 350 miles on my bike, so, about total 650 miles on the model. My first impression of it is that it rides and handles much better than the 500i or Burgman. It handles more motorcycle like than scooter like; if that makes any sense. It seems like I can comfortably ride harder thru the corners with it. It is much more powerful than the 500i and somewhat more powerful than the Burgman.

Its riding position is very close to the 500i; a little bit crowded. The Burgman has more leg room. I'm 6 ft tall with a 32 inch inseam.

It appears to get better fuel mileage than the 500i or Burgman. Both the demo bike and my bike averaged 56 miles per gallon. My 500i and Burgman averaged 45.

What I don't like about it is the mirrors and seat. I prefer the fairing mounted Burgman mirrors; the 700i mirrors are too close. The seat slopes too much for my liking; you have to adjust your seating position each time you hit a good bump. I found that if the wife is on bike, that levels the bike out where the sitting position is much better. I'm sure Kymco made the seat this way for shorter riders; they can slide forward at a stop and reach the ground.

Overall I'm pleased with it.
