Unfortunately winter has hit here hard tonight. But I was able to spin the rear wheel so far and I can feel the drag there. Still need to spin the front but I think we have found the issue.
Thanks guys

OK for the experts out here. This last year my DT doesn't roll as easy as it used to. Meaning that when you try to just let it move you can feel and hear something kinda dragging. I called the dealer thinking it might be the wheel bearing but he said they are closed and that shouldn't be the issue. The best is new with only a couple hundred miles on it. Could it be something else in the CVT?

Any thoughts would be great on where I should start my search for a solution.

TIA

I have that in place of the stock windshield and love it. Better coverage for the body and hands. I know some of said that the top of it hits where their eyes are though. I am able to either look over it or just below and it doesn't bother me.

thanks guys, I was afraid of that. I've always tried to be careful but I know it can still happen with the aluminum vs a steal bolt. I guess the one plus is that it's the filler hole and not the drain hole. LOL

meaning in the 8  years I have done this it will not snug up to the hole. I only tighten to the specified torque .but for some reason this time  it won't. It came off easy like always and went in by hand just fine but when I went to tighnten it it doesn't want to to. And I didn't want to try any more because I didn't want to strip anything.

Maybe I'm just missing it when I look online but I can't find it. I'm looking for the gear oil filler bolt. Mine will not tighten all the way. I looked online at all the diagrams but for some reason can't find it. Anyone have any idea what the part number is so I can order one?

The seat is better on the XT for sure. Otherwise they are real similar.

Yeah, well, it is hard to tell what is being described...

All the noises are gone now so most likly just the belt and rollers getting broken in.

You're sure it's something that doesn't happen? I don't know where you're getting your information, but the belt doesn't slide in the variator. If you're hearing a strange noise, something is wrong. If you keep riding it, you will figure out what it is fairly soon, if it's something wrong in the variator or clutch.

The belt does move within the the 2 pulleys of the system. That is how a CVT works.

It sounds like a shift with the RPM sound going down. I'm sure its just the belt sliding.

SO i just changed my belt and rollers a couple of weeks past. How long does the different noise last before the belt and rollers get set properly? It also almost seems like it "shifts" in the lower range. Not worried about it was just curious.

I go with the non ethanol here. I have several stations to pick from.

Don't go just by the milage. You should also change them after 5 years regardless of millage.

Ok I found 3 ways to fix this issue, I have it too.

1. make sure the outdoor temp is around 75F and dewpoint is mid 50's or lower.
2. Go WOT then you past it really quick.
3. Go BOT (barely open throttle)then you don't notice it cause you're going to slow to notice it.

Hope this helps. :o :P ;)
