GY6 comes in 2 length Short and Long. Count the number of bolts across the top of the CVT cover. if its 3 rather then 2 you have a long case.

My name is Alan. I race a Kymco S9 70cc Malossi. I am seeking sponsorship from Prilosec OTC (Proctor & Gamble) and I need your vote! Please go to http://www.officialsponsor.com/applications/view/8932, Register with an e-mail and user name, then return to Candidates, Category 106 Autos/Motorcycles, and cast a vote for ME and my KYMCO S9. Thank you very much!

Trying to get a sponsorship, is this a full sponsor or co sponsor?
How about telling us some of your acheivements such as websites, newspaper articles, some of your acomplisments?
I raced professionally on a circuit known as the IDBA (International Drag Bike Association) I never did land a full sponsorship but I have had plenty of co sponsors, such as Good Year, MSD Ignition, and single race sponsors.
Brag a little about your accomplishments and why we would think YOU should get the sponsor

Race Talk / Gilera GP800 Performance
« on: December 18, 2010, 07:36:44 AM »
From another topic, I decided to open this..

I have spent many many years at the dragstrip racing and watching cars, motorcycles, scooters, 4 wheelers race down the 1/8 and 1/4 mile dragstrip.
A scooter is in a class of its own when it comes to performance.
Todays sportbikes stock off the showroom floor are running in the 1/8 mile under 6.8 seconds and reaching speeds of 117MPH Do the math, its not long before they hitting 60MPH.

Another member posted that the Gilera GP800 will give a motorcycle a run for its money.
The Gilera GP800 is the fastest OEM scooter produced so far.
This is not your typical scooter!

Here are the numbers

Torque @ RPM:   56 lbs/ft@ 5750 RPM
Displacement:   839.3 Cc
Curb Weight:   540 lbs lbs.
0-60 time:   5.7 sec sec.

I will list the cruiser bikes first.
Triumph Rocket = 0-60 mph: 3.54 sec Big Cruiser Big.
Harley Davidson VROD = 4.26
Honda VTX1800 = 4.45
Kawasaki Vulcan = 4.98
Suzuki Blvd M9 = 3.89

Sports Cars
Nissan 370Z 4.9
Camaro SS 4.6
Mustang GT 4.8
Mustang V6 5.3
Cadilac CTS Coupe 6.8
Porshe 911 Turbo 3.2

Sportbikes
Kawasaki zx10r  2.9
Kawasaki zx12r 2.2
Kawasaki zx14 2.5
Suzuki GSXR1000 2.5
Suzuki Hayabusa 2.8

So there ya have it! Think twice before you peddle up on your scoot next to anything besides a 1968 Volkswagon Bug, or you may get lucky and race against someone that doesn't realize you are racing them.

These numbers are fantastic and will run with most of todays sports cars with the 0-60 times. Unfortuntelty it will not beat todays motorcycle stop light to stop light with a rider that KNOWS how to ride.

Todays Motorcycle numbers.

life flight

That's that helicopter service for hospital transport?

Yes
Life flight is used in extreme conditions when time is based on life and death. The average helicopter life flight ride costs $8000.00 and thats a flight within 20 miles of a hospital. Not all hospitals have this option.
The hospital I work for has them.

Since the scooters don't have to shift they will run all over the motorcycles stop light to stop light.

Hmmm
I don't know what country your in, or how they ride motorcycles over there. You will get your ass handed to you if you try and beat a motorcycle with a scooter off the line here in the US.
I dont own a sport bike but my VMAX will hit 0-60 in under 3 seconds and thats not even shifting into 2nd. Some and most of the larger sport bikes are capable of 90MPH in 1st gear.
But again you can get 2 night and day performance results with the same motorcycle.
Fastest scooter I have seen runs 0-85MPH in 6.8 seconds..

Scooter beating a motorcycle stop light to stop light LMAO ::)

Performance, Speed, and modifications all cost $$$$$$ If one is not mechanically inclined nor has good tuning and troubleshooting skills it becomes very expensive and more down time. Only modify which you can technically handle or have deep pockets and patience during the downtime.
To the gear heads we thrive on this, it not only makes our vehicle unique it also adds the excitement and pride once a goal is accomplished.
I have been racing for over 20 years. I have seen my share of people getting hurt from a minor road rash to losing a limb, going off the end of a track and hitting a sand trap at over 200MPH and being catapulted into the air grasping for there life as the are transported by life flight out! Yes, racing is risky which makes it exciting to participate and watch as a spectator. Just with anything, excitement sometimes has consequences.
If your not willing to accept the consequence don't play, sit on the porch.

Does this issue seem to get worse or better as the engine temp increases?
You say you cleaned the carburetor? To what extent did you clean in it in detail? (some people feel a can of carb cleaner spraying it into the back of the carb at high rpms is cleaning the carb.
You say you cleaned the carb and it got better and after a minute it started back again? Is it possible you got more trash in the carb jets? Are you using a fuel filter, if so have you replaced it?
Vacuum leaks? Have you checked? How did you check for a vacuum leak?
Remove the air filter, does the problem get better or worse?

Putting 92 octane in will not solve an issue with bad gas. Now if you stated you drained your gas tank completely and refilled the tank with a name brand fuel then you can eliminate bad fuel from the equation.
Since we arent with you in your garage helping we need AS MUCH AS information as possible to troubleshoot properly and not induce problems.

Have you done a search on google? How about a 2009 model do they use a rear disc setup? If so why not get a 2009 swingarm, rear wheel, caliper and rotor? I would keep an eye out on ebay.
