General Discussion / Re: Looking at Helmet Lights!
« on: September 18, 2015, 07:38:27 PM »
Here was mine. I switched it to green. I believe green has no issues with the law. People give me props with it on. And I have had no problem with police. I believe they like it, because we can be seen. I just scotched taped EL wire to the helmet, and used the 10lbs scotch fasteners to attach the battery pack to the helmet. It was cheap on ebay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2oYt0GUI-A. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/301574331735?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82

Anyone have any recommendations for a stronger grunt sounding exhaust for the 500? I want my bike to be heard.

X-Ray showed no broken bones in my wrist. Just ice and time will heal.

Roadcraft / Wear your Gear!
« on: March 14, 2015, 12:31:58 PM »
I can't stress the importance of wearing gear when riding. After only the bike's second day out of storage, I had a close call encounter with a guy on the FDR whose excuse was his blind spot warning did not pick me up. Let's just say after a taste of highway, to get up with just a sore wrist, ripped jacket and pants, and scuffed fairing plastic I'm all good. Drivers look over your shoulder please.

Think about what lane splitting/filtering would have done for him. This is why I filter in NYC.

To my drivers and driver/riders. I need your opinion on this moto vlog. Part of me wants to find a way to present it to city council or something. What is your opinion on this topic? Positive and negative comments welcome.

The handguards are Powermadd sg1 guards. They are around $60 on amazon and ebay. They are technically ATV handguards but I liked them because they are easily detachable because it is not screwed in. Here is al video on them. I cut the foam like it shows in the video so that it would mold over the brake fluid cylinder. Also the thing on my screen is for the ezpass. In the Eastern US it is an electronic toll system.

Really enjoyed your vblogs.  I have been looking for some handguards for my Xciting 500 and I noticed yours.  Where did you find them?  Also I noticed some type of an attachment to your windscreen, what is that for?  I put my scoot away last week and we got 4" of snow today so the season is over until late April.  That happens in Anchorage.

Hey everyone checkout my motovlog channel. I am super scooter guy on youtube. I have been trying to showcase different riding topics in a scooter type of way on my Kymco Xciting 500ri. There are not many US motovlogs with scooters as the main riding machine. Most scooter videos are foreign. This is especially true with the maxiscooter scene outside of the Burgman maybe. Hope you enjoy some of the topics.

Roadcraft / Re: MaxiScooter Highway Riding?

I ride my Xciting 500 pretty conservatively on i95 CT-NY stretch. It is a highside waiting to happen especially in the Westchester and Bronx section prior to the Cross Bronx. The Cross Bronx would be the worst but traffic is usually so backed up that you are not really going fast enough to get into problems because of the physically bad road condition.

I have the 2013 Xciting 500ri. What made you want to go to the 700? What is your comparison of the two?
