General Discussion / Re: Another Kymco dealer gone in NY
« on: January 07, 2024, 09:55:09 PM »
I wanted to take my Kymco to my local dealer in Michigan and they wouldn't look at it because it was more than 10 years old. They're only hurting themselves.

How long did he live after the stroke? He didn't sound too hopeful.

About a year or two ago. a big poster here had a stroke and quit riding, selling a lot of his scooters. What was his name and how is he doing? Just curious.

General Discussion / SSR: Surveillance of Society?
« on: June 01, 2022, 07:15:08 PM »
I was riding my scooter last night and saw a unique, small 3 wheeled enclosed scooter in a private parking lot near my house. I decided to ride over to it to check it out. The next day I'm on Youtube when I get an add for that exact vehicle. I never searched online for that scooter or talked to anyone about it, but that CAN"T be a coincidence. Is it possible that there was a camera on the scooter or on a building in the area and connected me with this scooter? If that's true, we are really being surveilled no matter where we go. Kind of scary.

Why was the horse biting the other one? Probably drugged up.

Anyone have this windscreen? It looks decent but will it last? I don't know if it fits Kymco but I'm looking at it for a Super Cub.

I've started the process of liquidation of my collection.  If you go to Dan's cycle website you can see pictures of a few.

Why are you jumping the gun? What if you recover well?

General Discussion / Define a Poser
« on: December 16, 2021, 02:53:09 PM »
I keep hearing people talk about posers, but I'm not sure what they mean. And why are there so many in the riding world?

Agreed!
It's just that the Americas have so many posers. Or so it seems. Lots of real riders. But lots of posers too.
[/quote. Define a poser

Wouldn't you say most Americans are fools?

General Discussion / Running a Fuel Injected Engine Dry

I've heard you shouldn't let a fuel injected bike run out of gas because it can damage the fuel injection . Is that true?

General Discussion / Re: our thoughts and prayers go out to Kansas Kymco
« on: December 08, 2021, 10:49:45 AM »
Sorry Tom I never took any pictures of the collection of 32 bikes and scooters.  If you go to Dan's cycle you will be able to see part of my collection on his web site when he lists them . He has taken 12 scooters so far. I will hold onto the Yamaha Majesty and BMW F-650 until the last . Will probably keep my antique Yamaha Riva 180 as well.  Have a Kymco 200S in pieces in the garage to put back together as well . I have several Kymco parts bikes at the storage lot. Would like to make someone a good deal on the Kymco parts bikes and the 200S that's in pieces.  At this point just want to git rid of them.

How does a person afford/ need 32 bikes and scooters?

Anyone store a bike in their home or condo? Is it dangerous. I'm thinking of doing it from December to  February.

General Discussion / Kymco Jingle?
« on: December 01, 2021, 05:17:20 PM »
I've been thinking of writing a promotional jingle for Kymco to help them boost interest in their scooters, sort of like the Beach Boys writing Little Honda. Do you think they'd be interested? ;D

General Discussion / Re: Buying a used Kymco People?
« on: November 29, 2021, 06:28:11 PM »
In SoCal they are 5k out the door though, dealer adds $995 + tax/license/reg.
I've never bought a new scoot before all mine have been used so its a bit of sticker shock, especially considering my Miata was $5500 when I bought it. But maybe its worth it to have brand new and I plan on keeping it long term...

All scooters and motorcycles are over-priced. These manufacturers are only hurting themselves. It's no wonder the scooter scene isn't bigger in this country.
